Slimming world - what do you snack on & have for lunch?
DarkGreen · 25/06/2021 19:05
I am so stuck for ideas for quick and easy lunch and snack ideas.
Ideally something I can make myself so I can make sure I'm eating well.
Got toddlers and work from home so ideally quick or something easy I can make ahead.
Thank you x

You’d be better off not snacking as all as it spikes your blood sugar. A few nuts, a boiled egg. Sw thinks tinned soho is evil but is handy sometimes (and is low calorie).

You could make up some pasta or couscous salad with chopped peppers, tomato , cucumber and keep in fridge . Add your choice of protein before eating .
Home made houmous or creamy tzaiki style dip (use 0% Greek yogurt , add Seasoning , garlic, mint) with crudités
HEXA cheese , cubed or mini babybels
Cold boiled eggs
If you eat near then slices of cold meat, chicken portions
There are recipes for HM crustless quiche, Spanish omelette / tortilla or muffins you could prepare and keep in fridge for day or so

Today I had 4 dark rye ryvitas (healthy extra) with tinned tuna mixed with light mayonnaise, (2syns), grated carrot and chopped onion. I also had some raw red cabbage and yellow pepper so make sure that a third of my plate was speed.
Yesterday I had homemade pumpkin soup which was rapeseed oil (1.5 sunshine per portion), onions, garlic, pumpkin, mixed herbs and water. I had it with 2 slices of wholemeal bread. (healthy extra).
I find that having a big, filling lunch really works for me, otherwise I'm hungry by mid afternoon.
If I need a snack I have fat free plain Greek yogurt with chopped fruit.

Lunches I have JP, beans and salad. Or egg omelette with veg or scrambled egg/beans on toast or 4 ryvita with fat free cottage cheese OR marmite and babybel light on OR laughing cow light and then tomatoes and cucumber etc.

I am trying not to snack but today for lunch I had x 3 vegetarian sausages and 1 syn worth if ketchup and after a few chopped up carrots.
I will often batch cook and take some for my lunch but I don't mind eating the same thing again and again

I like wholemeal pitta bread (hex b) with tomato puree, hex a, and ham or similar and grilled so its like a pizza.
iklboo · 05/07/2021 21:28
@DeltaAlphaDelta - yes I like that too. I split it in half so I get two mini pizzas for the price of one

@DeltaAlphaDelta
That sounds great definitely going to try that.
I also agree with chopped fruit and greek yogurt very nice.
●Apple slices with almond butter
●Carrots and peppers with onion and garlic cottage cheese
●Pickled onions
Some of my favourite more healthier snacks.
Lunches perhaps a jacket with your choice of filling and some crunchy salad on the side.

I don't have milk in my coffee so struggle with using my HEAs. I have babybel lights or light cheese triangles for a snack which then still doesn't use up any syns

I make soup at the weekend then freeze portions which is quick to heat up on week days. There are loads of recipes on the SW website.
