I've returned to SW this week.

I lost 6 stone 3 years ago and have gained three back.
Despite my best attempts at calorie counting, fasting etc, SW is the only thing that I can stick to consistently and that works

So I am back to it, having a great week good wise and feeling very motivated
Gaining so much back has been awful and I miss how good I felt when I was slimmer

So if anyone is joining or a member maybe we could have a thread where we can share ideas, keep each other motivated and offer support ?

I started on the 16th of Jan so still fairly new and happy to join in. I've lost 9lbs so far. I do have PCOS so it's a lot slower than most but I'm happy with anything!Grin

superstar84 · 05/02/2021 14:12

I'd love to join

I started sw on Monday, I've lost 3 stone in the past but put 1 on

I'm using my books but not rejoining as I'm spending more on food with the kids at home

I've got a lovely food diary though as a treat!

I'm weighing on a Monday morning, hoping for 2 lb loss this week

S111n20 · 05/02/2021 16:36

I’d love to join in. @superstar84 I’m also not rejoining with the amount I’m spending on shopping 😳

superstar84 · 05/02/2021 16:40

I've got the new version of the books as I did a 6 week countdown in the summer but didn't carry it on when group's re opened

How are you finding it?

I've enjoyed this week, tomorrow will be off plan as it's my little girls birthday but I was so ready to start I didn't want to put it off for another week

zenasfuck · 05/02/2021 20:55

Ah ! Hello everyone 😊

I've had a great week 100% on plan but I weighed tonight and very little lost so I'm a bit Hmm
Maybe it'll suddenly catch up or I'll see it next week - fingers crossed

I've cooked some lovely meals this week, I can highly recommend the creamy garlic chicken and baked chicken and spaghetti from Pinch of Nom and I made an amazing chicken, leek and spinach risotto which was well worth the stirring

Anyone got any meal ideas for me for next week ?

I’m glad I came across this as I have the books and keep procrastinating about SW or calorie counting. If I calorie count I just waste calories on chocolate ect. I’m going to give SW a try but will use my pinch if nom books and 2 Chubbycubs also.

superstar84 · 05/02/2021 21:32

One of our favs is the Cajun chicken pasta served with salad

Syn free jf you use the cheese as one of your A choice

dingoesatemybaby · 05/02/2021 21:35

I started in October. Lost 12lb so far (Xmas and having covid slowed things down). Doing SP this week and actually enjoying it!

Have another 1.5 stone to lose

dingoesatemybaby · 05/02/2021 21:36

Cajun dirty rice by PON is AMAZING!

Holly60 · 06/02/2021 15:03

Please may I join in. I’ve done it in the past and lost about 2.5 stone but put it all back on. I am definitely in need of motivation and inspiration. For various different reasons I’ve been using the frozen meals a lot as a quick solution. Some are lovely, some are not the best I’d say

superstar84 · 07/02/2021 08:54

What's everyone's meal plan for today?

I need to avoid the birthday cake in the kitchen!!

I've got shredded wheat for breakfast, some soup for lunch and then sausages, mash, veg & gravy for dinner

I've got an Asda delivery on Tuesday, could do with a few low syn bits to put it the freezer for a quick dinner when I'm short on time

So far I've got the Birdseye chicken burgers and McCain jacket wedges that are both low

I've enjoyed my week, yesterday wasn't on plan but I'm quite proud that looking back the only meal that I didn't pick a low syn option was mc ds which was her birthday takeaway pick!

Also does anyone have any good ideas for pancake day?

Which ready meals are you using that you've liked?

Jemma2907 · 07/02/2021 09:00

Hi everyone! I started SW a week ago! I did it a couple of years ago and lost 7 stone. I then gained that and more back on after I fell pregnant and then the following baby years. Im now ready to get this weigh off for good! I weigh in on a Saturday ans my first weigh in yesterday, i lost 6lb x

superstar84 · 07/02/2021 09:03

That's fantastic well done!!

Have you enjoyed the week?

Any good meals?

I'm going to do my meal plan tonight for the week and sort out the online shop, need to avoid the valentines meal deals!

Jemma2907 · 07/02/2021 09:44

Ah thankyou! Yeah, its been good. I do a meal plan every week. This last week we had creamy garlic chicken, skinny meatballs (aldi) and pasta, spag bol, chicken with creamy leek, roast chicken with Rumblethumps (that was really tasty). I love cooking and trying new dishes so looking forward to more recipes next week.

superstar84 · 07/02/2021 10:15

I like cooking but much prefer things like chilli where i can can make it when I have time then warm up for dinner later

With the kids at home it's tricky to cook at times but always have chance in the day to start to prep

MarshmallowsOnToast · 07/02/2021 10:23

Hi all, I started SW just after Christmas and have lost 11.5lb already, so really pleased with that. I have about 2-3stone to lose.

I follow a lot of Instagram accounts where people post recipes & meal plans which has been really helpful.

Been making loads of different stuff. Some favourites being lasagne, Cajun chicken pasta, baked oat bran, homemade trifle, chicken tikka masala, honey sesame chicken, calzone omelettes, cheesy garlic "bread".

Today we are having Aldi lamb shanks in red wine sauce (2.5syns per half pack) with mash & veg. Hope this is nice as it sounds, I've seen people rave about the the version with mint gravy.

Not sure about breakfast/lunch yet.

Yes, there sooo much cooking. I enjoy it but often have to leave OH "holding the baby" who is 8 months whilst I disappear into the kitchen for ages to prepare meals often making a separate meal for DS who is weaning.

Just starting to try & test some shop bought meals to cut down on cooking from scratch every night.

Have bought Tesco Katsu chicken breasts to try this week which again I've seen online & look fab.

Jemma2907 · 07/02/2021 11:46

Oh the chicken katsu sounds lovely! My husband is GF so annoying that cuts out a lot of the shop bought items. There are a few of the SW meals that I really like though so they are a lifesaver when I just cant be bothered. My children are DF so they have different meals anyway (an intolerant family apparantly).
The Aldi Skinny Meatballs are great for a quick dinner though. I just make a sauce of onion, pepper, garlic, chilli and chopped tomatoes while the oven cooks the meatballs so it takes about 25 mins total.

curlymom · 07/02/2021 15:27

Hi all, I need to join in. I stopped around November time and already gained a stone. Is everyone with a group or do some just follow a plan? 8 think 8 need accountability at a weekly group

Rubyshoes10 · 07/02/2021 19:52

I start tomorrow I’m just using books and the two chubby Cubs and PON books.

zenasfuck · 07/02/2021 22:05

Hi and welcome all new members 😊

6 pounds off for me this week which I am super pleased with !

Need to do my meal plan and shop tomorrow but hoping to try out some more new recipes but will definitely be making the creamy garlic chicken again this week, it was lush

Today was a bit off plan. Had my covid vaccine this morning and feel a bit shit so DH presented me with a Costa coffee and muffin and then cooked a massive roast.
Oh well, I'll be good all week and it was worth it 😊

Well done that’s amazing 😉

fleapriest · 07/02/2021 22:53

Would anyone mind sharing the basics of what slimming world is?

I keep seeing amazing weight loss on Instagram (I have 2 stone to lose) but I can't ever seem to figure out exactly what the plan is.

I'm trying to decide whether I should join online or not, but it's a quite expensive outlay and I'm trying to pay off debt.

I've tried calorie counting, but like a previous poster I just end up using them on chocolate Blush
