Never tried a weight loss programme before but I’m carrying a lot of weight after giving birth a year ago and feel like it’s not going to come off on its own (if it hasn’t already plus a year of breastfeeding!)

Started looking at the slimming world website but feeling a little overwhelmed.

What are your top tips to succeeding on slimming world?

Join a group. The apps, books etc are so worth it. Keep a log of what you're eating esp at the beginning. Don't be too fooled by free food. You can eat as much as you want but you do have to make sure you're eating speed with it too! I love SW!

Bite the bullet and go for it. Join a group, attend classes and read the book, you will do fab! It was one of the best decisions I made over 7 years ago, I have a much healthier relationship with food now.

Don't do it lol

Look at team RH . Far cheaper and teach you about nutrition properly. I'm just a member btw 😁

Join Fggf! It's awesome and way way better than slimming world.

@merlotormalbec thanks! Not sure what speed foods means but I’m sure I soon will!

@Avacadoandtoast thanks! Sounds so positive!

@Letsgetbizzy and @Blueuggboots no idea what both of those things are but will google :)

Team RH charge you to basically use My Fitness Pal. Which is free...

Join a meeting if you don't like your consultant after a few weeks don't be afraid to move groups.

Have faith in the plan it really works. Don't listen to ppl who have been on other programs or say it doesn't work. It does and if you are hungry on sw something isn't right.

Meal plan. Take an hr a week and plan our your breakfast lunches and dinners.

Fill cupboard with good snacks and treats. ( fruit and cooked meats etc)

Don't buy anything until you have your first meeting as you might buy things you think are fat free/ healthu but find out that they don't work on the sw plan. (avocado comes to mind)

Drink plenty of fluids it will make a huge difference.

Be kind to yourself and don't worry if you have an off day and think will I'll just forget about the rest of the week. 1 bad day doesn't need to be a bad week.

Loads of people will say oh don't joing SW join (insert plan, app, diet). If you want to join go for it.

If you want to try a different diet or plan do that do.

(I'm not a consultant BTW I've been a member of SW, WW, tried slimfast, Calorie counting but always come back to SW.)

I love slimming world but everyone finds what suits them. 😊

The pinch of nom blue book is fab for meal ideas.
Defo meal plan I stick to it much better with a plan. Sun free chips are fab, lots of ways to have what you want just healthier versions.

Join a group. I started online for a few months but transferred to a group when pregnant and it’s great.
