Slimming world with diverticulitis

I've just started back with slimming world, previously lost 4 stone. I've been diagnosed with diverticulitis since last time and I'm wondering if there's any other members with this disease that could share any tips of staying on plan without causing a flare up and also what works best during a flare up.

To help avoid a flare up, I ate lots of brown rice and wholemeal pasta, lots of beans, lentils, chickpeas, fruit and veg.
However, during a flare up I had to lower my fibre intake so I’d switch to white pasta and rice, well-cooked fruit and vegetables with their skin removed, potatoes with their skin removed, and low fibre cereals such as cornflakes. I’d also switch to eating eggs, meat and fish instead of beans and pulses.
During a really bad bout, I went onto a liquid diet and ate lots of soup www.slimmingworld.co.uk/recipes/chicken-and-vegetable-soup

I find not eating makes it worse. Sometimes you just need to ditch any idea of a diet, and eat the things that make you feel better, whatever they are. I find rich tea biscuits good if struggling to eat, and try to lower your stress and activity levels. Sleep more. Drink a lot of water.
