Why am I not matching the scales?!

So this week is my 7th week at slimming world.

Total loss so far is 1st 2.5lb 🥳

I've had slimmer of the week 3x since joining & I'm loving what the scales are telling me..

Although, I don't seem to be seeing much difference in myself?
Jeans are still uncomfortable. Clothes don't seem any looser? 😫

Where am I going wrong? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm not going over on syns, I'm exercising ie. walking & crosstrainer!? 🚶🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️

I understand it doesn't all happen overnight but why aren't I seeing a change?! 😭

If anyone has words of wisdom I'd be extremely grateful!

How big are you if you don't mind me asking?

Over a stone off is a massive achievement but you might not be able to see it much if you are going down from eg 17stone to 16stone compared with someone who goes from 9stone to 8stone.

I've lost 1stone4.5 since starting SW, going down from 13stone4 to 11stone13.5 and my clothes only feel slightly looser and I've still got a big belly and a bit of a double chin! I think I'll need to lose another couple of stone to see a very noticeable change.

PanicOnTheStreets85 · 02/06/2020 13:20

Also, this is an obvious point but you'll lose weight from all over your body which means that it's often harder to notice than if you were able to just lose the weight from a particular area.

I wish the stone that I had lost had just come off my chin and my belly, but some of it will be coming off areas that I don't care much about like my arms and my calves.

All we can do is keep going!

The weightloss you've achieved so far is brilliant! May be it's just coming off non-fiction areas first (face/calves/arms etc).

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 02/06/2020 13:23

Losing that much from say, 12stone would be noticeable. Losing it from 18stone, not so much. And tbh losing over a stone in less than two months probably means you had a lot to lose to begin with.

Keep going! It’s a bloody amazing achievement and you will soon start to see a real difference. I imagine your face is noticeably thinner already, have a look at some old photos.

So my starting weight was 14st 10lb.
My current weight is 13st 7.5lb.
I wear size 16.
I wear a size 18 to feel a little more comfortable & cover up.

I took a photo at the beginning of the weight-loss journey & I have taken a photo every couple of weeks & can see a slight difference.

I can't see any difference in my face, which is one thing that's getting me down cause I just feel like I've massively blown.

I know I shouldn't feel disheartened because what I've achieved is amazing! 🙂

Ok this is me at 14st and then 12st. It was that second stone off that made the difference. Took me a year though so you have done so well!

Thank you for your reply & also photos it has made me feel much better.

The only photos I have are me in my underwear & I'm not sure people would like to see those?!

I'm also struggling with my upper tummy, it's almost like it feel bloated all the time?

I don't eat bread anymore as it made me feel uncomfortable so don't know what that is all about!

Could you be pregnant?

Lostmyunicorn · 02/06/2020 15:39

Try taking weekly or monthly measurements of various areas - upper arm and thighs circumference, waist, hips etc as you may find that this shows a difference even if you can’t see if across your whole body iyswim

mrsjw17 · 02/06/2020 19:53

No not pregnant 😅

I've taken my measurements so hopefully that'll help me see a change!
