Any vegan slimming worlders?

I did slimming world years ago and lost loads. Kept it off until last year, after a series of major life events. All is well again now but I need to lose the weight.

However, I am now vegan as well and I used to make lots of chicken based recipes before...so any tips, hints, things to look out for?

Hi @originalcatlady !

Im not sure about any vegan recipes for slimming world in particular, bu there are SO many vegan recipes that mean you don't have to restrict yourself. Myself and my other half lost so much weight naturally just by being vegan so my honest advice would be just vary your vegan diet and make sure your getting some veggies in etc.

I found these guys, they're really fun to watch and ive made a few of their recipes, they tase amazing!!! :D

I'm a vegan slimming worlder!
It depends if you want to eat the "mock meat" or wholefoods. I tend to replace meat in recipes with lentils, chickpeas, beans. I don't bother with either HE cheese, i just have x1 HE A which is plant milk.
If there's anything else you want ideas for, just ask. I've been vegan for a few years, and SW for 3 months.
I hope it's going well!

I don't actually like the taste of meat. The only mock things I like are sausages, but the ones made out of veggies rather than mock meat anyway.
My snacks were always very egg based before. I think I'm ok with main meals, but lunches and snacks I feel a bit like I'm eating the same every day.

Disclaimer- I'm not actually vegan but eat a lot of vegan food.

I have noticed that some of the SW ready meals are now vegan - there's a vegan cottage pie with soya mince (I quite like this), a jackfruit chilli (not tried) and some of the curries, and the lentil soup. I think the Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages are vegan.

Snacks / lunches - pasta / rice or couscous salads with beans / chickpeas / tomatoes / peppers. Perhaps make yourself up a couple of tubs and have one for your lunch and a smaller, different one as a snack, then swap over the next day.

I actually like eating chick peas out of the can (instead of crisps). You could put a few in a tub.

Home made hummous or bean dips with crudités - use alpro instead of the natural yogurt.

Ooo I think I need a slimming world ready meal shop! Actually they might be a good lunch idea. I'm not a fan of salads and I find I make the same pasta over and over again then I get bored. Need new ideas before I reach that point!

Never tried raw chickpeas! They are synned if you roast them aren't they?
