Take away?

DH & I have started following SlimmingWorld and we have decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway at the weekend - mostly because the kitchen will be semi out of working use on Saturday as we're getting a new tumble dryer delivered (we don't know what time yet) so there won't be a lot of room to get in to cook.

As we're still new to SlimmingWorld we're not really clued you're on the best take away option to go for - we've pretty much got every option locally - what do you suggest we get that's not too bad syns wise?

There's a whole section on takeaways in your book. Generally I think chicken in black bean is one of the better options

GoldLeafTree · 13/01/2020 11:04

Beef in black bean sauce is 8 syns or chicken in black bean sauce is 7.5 or chicken chop suey is 9.5. Boiled rice or boiled noodles are free.

Chicken chow mein from the take away is 23 syns. Can't find banana fritters sorry.

troppibambini · 19/01/2020 12:54

Had another look for banana fritters and nothing but to be honest they will be pretty high so you might be best not knowing!

Beef in black bean sauce (8) and boiled rice is probably you best option from a Chinese takeaway.

Yeah I do find that sw only works if you plan. You really have to make sure that you have a fridge full of free stuff or it's so easy to go off plan in a really big way, especially in the early days while you're still trying to loose eather than maintain.
I've kind of incorporated it into my routine so now shop for fresh fridge bits every week straight after my weigh in group. It's my new routine and means I remove the possibility of grabbing something off plan for convenience.
While I like your style I'm not sure that truffle for dinner can be used as a good option in any world ha ha.
My advice with regards to eating out is take your book with you everywhere and check the syn value everytime you aren't sure. Just until you get the hang of it. Mine was my bible when I first started.

For budget food
Tinned chickpeas, lentils, frozen fruit and veg, oats, pilchards etc are relatively cheap in price and good for sw.
