How many syns are we all having???

New to this all but loving it! Feel so much better already and my bloated belly has gone right down 🥳

Just a quick one, I know the suggested amount is 5-15 syns a day but I was just curious to see where everyone lies in this bracket?

I thought for the first few weeks I'd give myself the full 15 but haven't yet used them and eager to cut them down. I normally finish on about 9-12.

I get really conscious that I'm eating too many but then I remember how much I was eating before and that 9-12 syns really is a very small amount!

I try to have under 10 if I can. Not always possible obviously but the plan is designed for you to still lose weight even if you have 15, so the lower the better but don't feel guilty about having 15 if you need/want them x

I'm sooo overweight so allowed 20 but never use all 20.

I try and use between 5-10 so when I have more than that it feels like such a treat lol, and still not going overboard!

Thanks @spurs4ever yeah I'm aiming for less than 10 as I'm finding it enough at the minute! But yeah you're defo right, if I need the 15 one day I will defo have them! Probably on a bad Monday 😂x

@Lular3110 thanks for getting back to me! Yeah I'm gonna have up to 10 I think! Then having 15 will feel like a nice treat 😁 I'm really loving it, so different to anything else I've tried before! Thanks lovely xx

I went through a stage of having under 7 and having crap losses. A friend encouraged me to go to 10 and I started getting good losses again. I always find the more syns I have the better I lose.

@Groovee this happened to my friend. Went a week consuming 0 syns for a good loss and was 100% on plan and lost -1lb. She was devastated. Said sod it and ate 15 syns every day the following week and lost -4lbs 🤷‍♀️

I socialise most weekends and while I've definitely cut down on what I drink, I've also switched from wine to vodka and soda i absolutely know it's unrealistic for me to say I'm not going to drink. I've cut down huge amounts I refrain from the shot rounds and if i do something during the weekI dont drink, no more two glasses of vino with a meal nights lol. But I like a drink and my friends drink so I'm not going to completely go without or stay in. I might be able to do that for a couple of weeks but i know that i wouldn't stick to that long term. I get weighed on a Saturday so I flexi syn over the weekend depending on what I'm doing. When out I text myself each time I get a drink (if I'm drinking indoors or at a friends I measure out a set amount at the beginning of the evening). Means I can stay in control but in all honesty do use most of my syns at the weekend on drinks. Then I eat syn free during the week, I've lost 3 stone and maintained for a year so works for me and means I never once feel like I'm missing out. If I do use syns on food it's either on gravy for a roast, a mayflower curry instead of a takeaway or hifi bars if I want something sweet and have already had my HEB. It averages out at 5 to 10 a day. I really try never to go over 10.

I always have a fibre one cake bar at night & I also had a mr Kipling angel slice (100 cal one) so 8 syns all in I think. Then a yoghurt at 0.5 syns as part of my breakfast. Kind of standard for me. Can you inspire me with your food diary for the day please Smile

@selmabear That is comforting to know. I either use 9 of my 15-a-day allowance, or bust it and end up at 21, but it ends up balancing out over the week. I was contemplating doing a syn-free week but you've convinced me it's a bad idea!

This is only my second week (this time around!!) so far I've used around 15 syns, maybe just over on days I've eaten out which is 1-2 times a week, by choosing the best menu option and just having one small wine spritzer. Other days I've had around 5 syns.
