Hi all

Just wanted to see if anyone on here has diabetes type 2 and is on slimming world? If so do you follow the same guidelines as everyone else or is it catered for your health needs?

I was Hoping to join SW this month but found out I could possibly be diabetic ( waiting on blood results) so wanted to see if I do have diabetes how it would work or if I would need another diet plan

There have been a few people join our group who have had one to one with the consultant as there is a separate guide to following SW when diabetic.

“If so do you follow the same guidelines as everyone else or is it catered for your health needs?”

It’s kind of both those and yet neither...clear as mud, lol.

It’s the same general guidelines but because they’re very flexible you then cater it to what you need.

So if you need to low carb you do that within the guidelines, if you need a third carbs you do that within the guidelines... if you know some fruits are too sugary you don’t eat them even though you can within slimming worlds guidelines.

If you are T2 or pre diabetic then you'd be better off doing low carb. You'll lose weight and potentially reverse your T2.
Fast 800 is a good place to start too.

Good to know! Yeh i do think if I do have Diabetes then low carb would be the best bit.

i had GD when pregnant and carbs would shoot my sugar levels up so high Sad
