Hi guys first chat. I am struggling to loose weight with slimming world. I am gluten intolerant and bit of dairy too. I intend to eat too much junk food during the day which doesn’t help cause I am always hungry. I also have really bad pyrosis flair up to and now borderline diabetes. I am 12.3 and just want to loose a stone for my target. Already lost 2 stones prior and advice welcome.

I would eat more breakfast, and build that around carbs eg porridge and fruit with yogurt.

Maybe a baked potato and beans for lunch.
That sort of thing should keep you full.

Possibly the junk has contributed to your allergy problems? I'm not sure though, it's just that I know a couple of people similar, who also eat a lot of junk. I can't imagine our systems tolerate it well.

Personally, when I was in your position last year-but with different health issues, and also not losing at SW, I consulted a dietitian for a few sessions and that's been brilliant. I'm within BMI now.

Thank you for your reply I try having a handful of almonds 10 in the morning and saving my oats for the evening with my milk allowance. In the morning just have fruit with the almonds. Lunch I take a small amount of veg curry or meat curry with loads of veg. I think it might be my stress levels too that make me hungry. Don’t think I am drinking am enough water.

Your restriction in the morning is leading you to binge on snacks in the afternoon.

You need a proper breakfast and plan healthy snacks so you aren’t tempted by higher calorie options.

This morning I have had 10 almonds, bell sweet peppers, 2 satsumas. Midway snack one apple. Loads of water then at 1pm will have my lunch.

You need to increase your protein intake.

I lost nearly 3 stone on slimming world and I'm gluten and dairy free (with intolerances to beef, fish, some fruits and vegetables) it can be done but more thought and planning is needed. a typical day for me would be
alpro plain yogurt and fruit for breakfast (free)
jacket potato, beans and lots of salad (free) or a sausage sandwich (Linda McCartney rosemary and onion are free and used promise rolls which are a B choice)
some sort of meat/potato/vegetable. rice based dish. would aim for it to be free foods (the take 5 cookbook and pinch of nom I mostly used)
then I would use the 15 syns on sauces/treats in the evening. I didn't use my A and B choices every day. I drank lots of herbal teas or black coffee with skinny syrups (free).
I snacked on fruit and made sure I was drinking rather than going straight for food.

it's harder as lots of low syn or free treats tended to have wheat or dairy in but it's doable.

Thanks I will try that

I've only just started slimming world (3 weeks in) but I don't think you're eating enough? Also, 10 almonds need to be synned don't they?

If you're hungry you need to eat.

My day is:
B - 40g porridge with 200ml of milk, tsp honey
L - salad, roasted sweet potato and peppers (spray of fry lite), 2 boiled eggs
D - pasta with spicy chicken and broccoli

S - Advent calendar choc, maybe some pineapple or mango

If I'm stuck, I get the book out again. I'm losing weight eating potatoes and pasta most days.
