I recently joined slimming world about 2 weeks ago. Honestly I am struggling to stick to plan, I don't know if it's the weather but I keep reaching for things that are High in syns 🙈

I find planning my food and having low syn stuff handy as well as protein filling foods to snack on. Lots of water too x

I agree with Groovee.I also thinks it takes a few weeks to get into SW...you pick up hints and tips from group .Also....have you still got high syn foods in the house? Don’t buy packets of biscuits etc ( even if one is very low syn...you will eat more than you wanted to.If you feel you really need a biscuit / chocolate, go out and buy a low syn one eg Freddo , Curly Wurly )

I always found the terminology with slimming world quite detrimental.

If someone tells me what I'm eating is a syn, well I'm just gonna want more!

bossybloss · 28/10/2019 16:04

@Seriously79 I get you ..that why they changed it from Sin to Syn ( synergy!) ...still sin! to me.

The term Body Magic always makes me laugh too ..why not call it exercise? ( I suppose that might put people off though )

"Fail to plan, and your plan will fail" is a regular saying in group: agree with PPs about having low syn or syn free foods in to enjoy when you fancy a snack.
No need to go hungry or deprive yourself.

I've attended SW for 10 weeks and have lost a stone with a 22 lbs to target. Planning is the key and I've found eating a punnet of grapes and or a couple of apples and a banana for breakfast, together with herbal tea, keeps me going until lunchtime. I try to have leftover SW meals for lunch, eg, pasta or rice with a tomato based sauce. I tend to save my syns until the evening so I have something to look forward to. I've maintained my weight about four times, but each week thereafter I've lost 1 to 2.5 lbs.

My goal is to wear the trousers suits that fit well prior to having surgery 1 year ago.

Don't give up, OP: if I can do it, so can you 💪🏾

Hev33 · 13/11/2019 20:56

I'm the same, lost 2.5 stone so far, got another 2 to go but stuggling big time. I feel like I've lost my dieting mojo, been bingeing the last week, stopped going to the gym 2 weeks ago WTF is wrong with me, I know I will just end up back where I was but cant seem to get back in control. I start the day off good then all goes to pot mid afternoon, anyone got any suggestions x

UncleHerbie · 14/11/2019 06:53

My SW attending mate/mentor suggested eating fewer carbs daily so I've eaten less and have lost 2lbs this week. Plus portion control ,..

bossybloss · 15/11/2019 21:40

Hev33...have you had a word with your consultant, they may have some ideas.

How about buying a couple of the cook books and making some completely new meals, shopping in a different supermarket than you usually do, joining a new exercise group or activity,..it looks like you need to get motivated.

Start again and read all the books from start to finish with fresh eyes.Good luck!xxx
