Cholesterol and Hex A

My cholesterol has shot up from 5.0 to 6.9 since the end of last year. I'm suspicious if the 2nd Hex A which I use for cheese most days could be a contributing factor as I rarely ate cheese before this as I used my Hex A on semi-skimmed milk.

Although I used my syns for chocolate since I got the results last Friday I've now decided to cut out chocolate, cheese and limit red meat to twice a week and use my syns for healthy food now but allow myself a small bar such as a skinny whip once or twice a week maximum.

I've been following SW longer than that time length so I'm wondering if this has happened anyone. I'm seeing my GP later to discuss my results.

Hi, I've joined MN to specifically answer your post. Seems you posted late last year, so hope you are still a member and after answers. I too have had an increase in my cholesterol level since going on SW regime. I was always around 4.7 or 5 preSW. This year a routine blood test revealed it had gone up to 6.7. Seeing as I not one for creams or milky products. I struggle to eat a lot of cheese, I don't like the smell or taste of cow milk so use soya/coconut/almond milks etc. But even those are limited. I may have one bowl of cereal a week. I have black tea and coffee. I don't like frying foods, we use an airfryer and have for many years. I've given up almost all sugars in favour of sweeteners. I use gluten free breads but I don't like a lot of bread. I usually throw away over half a baguette and eat the filling instead. Or will have an 'open' sandwich instead of a full one. I use lite sprays for cooking eggs, lean bacon.....well you get the picture. I'm totally confused as to why the level has risen so badly. Except I did have a thought about whether it is the eggs I consume or proteins that are so much more of my daily menu now? Anyway, wanted to say 'yes, my cholesterol levels are up since before I started SW' and also my blood pressure has been very raised this last year.
