Breastfeeding on Slimming World

Is anyone else breastfeeding whilst doing slimming world? I'm one week in and my baby has started getting really bad reflux when she's breastfed. She doesn't get it when bottle fed with formula, so I'm think my increased fruit consumption might be causing it? Confused

I'm breastfeeding and on slimming world. I've lost 1 st 9 lbs now.

I didn't really notice a difference in my baby's reflux etc.

How old is your little one? How are you finding slimming world? Xx

I'm in week 2 of slimming world and my 5 month old hasn't had any reflux. You could always cut back on the fruit and build it back up slowly. Hope your first weigh-in made you smile - mine did! ☺

Thanks @Emelene & queenofpi she seems to be a lot better. Not sure what it was? She's only 4 months old so I just didn't want to start wanging fruit down my neck if it was going to upset her stomach - I've no excuse now.
I lost 3lb first week which I was chuffed about, as I'm just wanting to lose 16lbs. Well done on your loss, you must be proper proud. Do you enjoy it?

I like the sensibleness of what you can eat unlimited and the few things you have to monitor. It helps that we get more healthy extras! I lost 4.5lbs and was so happy! I want to lose at least a stone and a half (pre baby weight). I'm glad the reflux problem seems to have gone away, keep going with that fruit!

@Marybe - that's a great weight loss, well done! I do enjoy it, it's really changed the way I eat and highlighted bad habits I got into whilst pregnant/ establishing feeding. I like the free foods and I'm eating a lot more fruit and veg! Smile

How many extra healthy extras do you get for BF, and is it only if you are exclusively BF? (I BF 3-4 times at the moment and pump 1-2 times per day.) I want to do SW again (have done it in the past) but can’t really afford it at the moment. I’ve still got all my old books so can do it from home but can’t find anywhere in the book what’s different if you are BF.

Hey, you can have up to 5 healthy extras when breastfeeding. Not sure if it differs if your combi feeding, but can't imagine it would? You're also encouraged to have your 15 syns a day :-) Good luck with it

Thank you! 5 portions of cheese a day!!!!! 🙂 seems too good to be true...my daughter’s dietician did say it was important my calcium intake was high though so sounds reasonable. I guess if it doesn’t work for me I can always cut down.
