How does SW work online

Wondering whether to pay for an online membership. Does the online version automatically track syns and HEB or do you have to manually input everything? I remember going to SW group a few years back and I want hugely impressed with their App/online content, has this been updated?

You use their food database to search for what you've eaten, which you then add to your online daily diary. Each item in the search shows the Syns, if it's a HexA/B or if it's free and your diary shows you how many Syns you have left over. I found it very easy to use when I tried it at the beginning of the year. I preferred the actual website to the app. I'm considering going back on it. They need to take a leaf out of WW's book as their app is really good but I don't like their plan
