Not using whole of healthy extra - syn or not?

Hi! I’m a new member of SW and won’t have a meeting for a few more days but I’m having one niggling question.

If I don’t use my full healthy extra allowance, do I have to syn what I DO have?

For example, I use one of my HexAs on cheese usually. Today, I have been using laughing cow light cheese, of which I can have 5 triangles as an allowance. I’m unlikely to want all 5 of these! I’ve had two, and will be using one to stuff chicken with later so I will have had 3/5 of my allowance. Is this fine? Or do I need to syn the three I’ve had because it’s not a “complete” HexA portion?

I’ve searched this already but information is quite conflicting. Hoping someone can give me some guidance with this!

Thanks in advance. Smile

I am on Sw and personally i wouldn't syn it. I use my HEA on milk for tea but never use my whole allowance of it, so i wouldn't worry.

And good luck! Xx

As long as you don't have a whole HEA of something else it's fine.

You could also have 2/5 of something else to make up the whole healthy extra if you wanted. Depending on what it is it might be hard to measure, though. Trying to judge 2/5ths of 3 babybel lights would be trickier then working out 2/5ths of 350mls milk.

You don't need to syn it.
But you should use your healthy extras.

TerribleTwosPhase · 02/06/2019 17:23

No i wouldn't syn it either, i use one of my hea for tea but probably never use it all.

If you like Laughing Cow, buy the Original triangles, as that's two as a healthy extra.
Calcium is said to support weight loss,as well as health.

As these are measured out to ensure calcium and fibre, I would look at smaller things if you find you are struggling like smaller portions of full fat cheese etc.

alexalechelle · 03/06/2019 18:07

Thanks all! I do try to include a full portion but just sometimes I don’t fancy cheese/milk etc. And it seems foolish to force myself to eat for the sake of it! 3 babybels down today though..!

No I never syn them if I'm under. I often split them so in your example 2 laughing cow light cheese and maybe 20g of rf cheese.
