Ideas for Snacks, When I'm Not Keen on Fruit
ILoveYou3000 · 29/04/2019 22:05
I'm rejoining SW on Wednesday and have a huge amount to lose. Worked really well for me in the past, lost 4.5 stone in 7 months but after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and the complications and restrictions imposed by that I've regained over last few years.
The one part I really struggle with is I'm not a fan of fruit, other than melon, blueberries on occasion and the odd apple or orange if I'm in the mood. I do, however, love my veg and salad so lunch/dinners are no bother, it's breakfast and snacks I struggle with. Because I'm quite limited with the fruit I eat I get bored quite quickly.
Really, what I'm asking for are ideas for breakfasts so I can mix it up a bit and prevent the boredom.

Scrambled eggs or omelettes are a favourite for me. I sometimes have 2 cold boiled eggs with melon for breakfast on lazy days.
Sainsbury's Wholemeal muffins are a healthy extra. I put a Quorn sausage patty on it, with a fried egg and cheese for a McDonald's mcsausage muffin.

Veg sticks and dip or a healthy extra tortilla cut up and done in the oven with dips?
I’m really repetitive for breakfast and have overnight oats in muller light toffee (1 syn) and blueberrys or wheatabix and milk with a banana on top (healthy extras)

Roasted chickpeas & apple crisps are some of my favourites. Lots of recipes on Pinterest for these.

I struggle with these too!
Not all of these are the perfect balance with speed in there, but I eat these at target and lost 3st eating this sort of thing..
Breakfast...
Omelette! Fill with anything e.g. ham, cheese, chicken, small amount of chorizo, peppers, onion, mushrooms, leftover potato, cottage cheese
Bacon, eggs and baked beans.
Heck sausages (check the low syn ones)
Fried sweet corn with eggs on the side.
Breakfast meatballs with low fat pork mince, and scrambled eggs
Bacon and fried egg sandwich with your HEX B
Weetabix with milk and melon on top
Pulled pork, fried until crisp! In a sandwich, with eggs, or just straight from the pan! (Drool!!) this will be my breakfast tomorrow, I’ve done a big joint for tea so there’s plenty of leftovers!
Snacks...
Boiled eggs
Mullerlight yogurts (not free but very low syn)
Syn free meatballs (make from 5% fat mince)
Cooked chicken/ham sliced or shredded
Egg muffins with anything in them
SW hummus with veg sticks
Grilled peppers
Mushrooms fried in balmasic vinegar and soy sauce
Carrot chips (cooked in fry light, amazing with some harissa on them too!)
Hi fi or alpen light bars
Light babybels (3 is a HEX A)
