Does anyone follow the general plan but doesn't eat bread, rice, pasta, potatoes and crisps/chocolate etc so only use syns on cooking oil/extras in proper meals?

You could do the SP plan. That is no carbs, no flavoured yoghurt etc. Its up to you to use your syns how you like then, and your hexa and b. YOu could use the hexb on nuts and seeds and your syns on oil. I tried, but found it too restrictive and didn't lose much weight compared to the effort I put in. Have you tried doing the Low Carb bootcamp or similar instead?

Eliza9917 · 29/01/2019 16:42

Yes, but I can't stick to it for long enough. When I did SW as above last year I lost a stone in about a month.

I tried it but found it hard to stick to as so much of the diet is based on low fat, crap carb products. I was constantly hungry

I suspect that when you eat low carb you need fat to keep you feeling full which you cannot get within the confines of the SW diet

noodlenosefraggle · 29/01/2019 20:20

No I couldnt stick to it either. kummerspeck is maybe right in that you need to eat fat if you are cutting out carbs, but that is a LCHF diet, which is very difficult to stick to. I now just do usual SW but have wholewheat carbs and 1/4 of a plate, about fist size 1/2 plate veggies or salad and 1/4 plate protein. Im very good with meals, I just need to sort out the snacking!

I do
I also do low fat and low sugar
I am gluten free so rules out bread cakes biscuits pasta etc
I don’t like potatoes and have small amounts of rice maybe twice a month
I only use my healthy b 3-4 times a week for gluten free porridge
I manage not to be hungry by eating a lot of fruit veg and salad along with eggs meat fish poultry
I use my syns on sauces and alcohol
Lost 5 stone in last 2 years and a further 2 stone previous to that when I first had to go gluten free
Only real down side is it’s expensive

I've kept the carbs to a minimum and I'm 5lb down since Monday. I might keep the hxb and see how I go.

Monday I had:

House salad bowl from tesco
Appetina cheese, olives, garlic
2 chicken thighs from the hot counter

Homemade chicken soup with loads of veg in
1 small slice of white crusty bread with benecol

1 choco leibnitz
1 small piece of dark chocolate

Yesterday:

1 asian pear
1 small easy peeler
1 kiwi

Carrots

House salad bowl
1 small chicken breast (the packaged one that comes on that strip of 5)
Low fat dressing
1 babybel light

1 cup of tea with a dash of milk
1 Nuttella b-ready

Homemade chicken soup
2 slices hovis nimble wholemeal & benecol
2 babybel light

1 small piece of dark chocolate

Today I've got/had:

1 asian pear
1 easy peeler
1 small melon pot
1 0% fat natural yoghurt

Carrots
Spoonful of reduced fat humus

House salad bowl
1 small chicken breast
Low fat dressing

3 babybel light

I have 5 gullon sugar free biscuits with me (they are tiny) and I'll check the syns and see how many I'll have.

I was going to make the pinch of nom lasagne tonight but change the sheets for butternut squash sheets.

Eliza, have been on SW eating plan for 5 months, I don't eat bread, potatoes, cakes, biscuits, very little rice and pasta, no sweets at all. Very few syns. I cook everything from scratch (bit of a bind) and I am teetotal. So, have now lost just over two stone, shall keep going until the last stone has shifted!

Eliza9917 · 31/01/2019 09:10

@edgen2019 Well done!

I do this diet and lost 4 lb in 5 weeks (5 syns a day) started eating carbs and lost 9lb in 2 weeks but I’m breastfeeding so my body needs more

edgen2019 · 31/01/2019 17:07

Thank you Eliza good luck on your diet journey!

GoldenBlue · 06/02/2019 21:22

I mostly low carb as they don't suit me. Been at target for 2 years and still attend group each week.
I avoid simple carbs but will occasionally have some brown rice.
I do have a HB each day, mostly oats as overnight oats so I'm not no carb.
The new SP plan allows plain fat free yoghurt so I guess I mostly live by SP

itsboiledeggsagain · 08/02/2019 22:00

I only have the free carbs really and Oats for hexb. We rarely have pasta so it is potato and rice. I like it, I am losing weight, I am happy
