Done it before, doing it again? What are we going to do differently this time?

Started SW again yesterday. Heaviest I've ever been and got a good four stone to lose to get to target.

I've done SW or WW about a dozen times over the years. I always lose a bit but then give up.

They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So this time, I have to change things up.

I will:

  1. Get weighed every week even if I think I've gained
  1. Stay to group
  1. Not use my syns purely on alcohol and chocolate!
  1. Aim for 1lb a week. Anything more is a bonus
  1. See this as a long term project. One year to get to target!!

Anyone else want to pledge to doing it differently this time??

I menu planned this time. Found it much easier for shopping and as I had a change of working hours to work round, it felt much simpler. It helped me to write a list and not go wild.

Ditto TeaTime; I lost 2 stone with WW 30 years ago, lost 2 stone with WW 25 years ago, lost 4.5 stone with WW 10 years ago, now at SW for a change, 1.5 stone lost and planning on same again!! (Obviously i put weight back on in between those times 😁) I got quite disillusioned after I put nearly all my weight back on after last big loss at WW. I always thought that if I was slim, I could stay slim but it didn’t happen, it gradually went back on. This time, I’m trying to treat it as a change of habits instead of a diet. Not sure I can cope with it all going back on again!! Good luck to you with your weight loss! 🙂

I set up a whatsapp group with a good friend, my partner and my mum. I post my weigh ins, new recipes and just chat. I can avoid group if I've gone off track but these 3 will hound me (in the nicest way) to get me back on track.

Like you op, I'm looking at it as a long term project. I'm also weighing myself every morning. I know it isn't recommended but it stops me getting hung up on my weekly weigh in (and wanting to eat everything if I put on). I'm more aware of how my weight fluctuates over a week. Just over a stone off so far so it's working atm but I'm worried about giving up at Xmas.
