Starting tomorrow. I am disgustingly huge and terrified. Had a baby a few weeks ago and genuinely thre biggest ever been.

Will I be judged and feel bad and cry or will I feel sad but empowered.

Please help! BlushSad

Please cut yourself some slack, you've just had a baby and you're being really proactive.

Nobody will judge you because everyone is there for the same reason. Strangers tend to be kinder to us than we are to ourselves. (You're not disgusting so cut that talk out please Smile)

Congratulations on your new baby and good luck x

Of course you won't!! Absolutely not. You've just had a baby . And anyway you could be 40st and nobody at slimming world would do or at that.

ComeOnGordon · 22/11/2018 20:08

Give yourself a chance to enjoy the baby and make some gradual changes in what you eat and get out with the baby. Don’t feel you have to go to slimming world already.

PS I’ve read some crazy bullshit that slimming world say to people. “A banana is more syns if it’s mashed than if its whole”. How do they think you eat it if your mouth doesn’t mash it up Confused There are other more sensible ways to lose weight. Lots of online groups offering support

Thanks so much. I'm so embarrassed to let someone ( even a stranger) know how much I weigh.

I gave no willpower to do it myself . I feel I need the griouo but if you could recommend any online groups I would definitely have a look. Xx

Remember everyone who joins slimming world joins because they wish to lose weight. I was over 16st and at just 5ft 1 I was morbidly obese. You will be weighed by your consultant first time then whoever does the weigh in. I've lost 5.5st and been at target for 8 months now.

I do weigh in at my group. I never remember what someone's weight is once they leave the weigh in area.

Remember it's a journey not a race to lose weight. Don't feel ashamed. You have just had a baby and it takes 9 months for the weight to go on during pregnancy.

Pinch of nom and Slimming eats along with two chubby cubs are my favourite sites for recipes.

Richie Howey on FB has a group where you pay a small amount monthly and get support about your diet & exercise plans. He’s a no nonsense sensible advice kind of guy - lots of swearing in his videos but his plan works

FiveNightsAtMummys · 24/11/2018 17:52

Don't be embaressed 1) you've just had a baby so will naturally be carrying alot more weight that normal and 2) it's a club to help you loose weight, everyone's in the same position weather there 2lb over weight or 20 stone over weight. You don't have to tell anyone your weight they write it in a book and focus on what you loose each week. At mine if anyone gains they just say they didn't have a great week they don't shame them or tell the group what they have gained (unless the person choses to share what they have gained)

Avacadoandtoast · 26/11/2018 20:49

Ohh my goodness - congratulations!! Don’t be ashamed and don’t put too much pressure on yourself as you will be tired with baby quite a bit. I lost a lot of weight with slimming world - absolutely love the class. I don’t follow it so well when I do the online version - if you are going to do it definitely go to class. Your baby will be welcome along too! Good luck!!
