Looking for support and/or advice. Went to see GP today for something totally not weight related and she has referred me to Slimming World. I'm not convinced about it, to be honest, but I'm absolutely rubbish at controlling my eating and am now 5 stone overweight. So I thought I'd try a group thing.

Have I done the right thing?

Yes, stick to it and you'll be amazed. Follow fbook groups for inspiration

I found group to be really supportive and what I needed to keep on track. I've lost 5.5st now and am at target.

There's a support thread under the SW topic that you would be very welcome on.

Hi, i have just joined too - been struggling to stick to anything to loose weight but determined this time :)

I've done slimming world a few times and it definitely works. 2 kids later and I'm on it again for the last time. 4st to lose (2stone to get me back to my weight 10yrs ago!!!)

With slimming world, you eat healthy wholesome food made from scratch, lots of healthy fruits and veg, lean meats and fish. Most family favourites can be made slimming world friendly. My advice is prepare to be prepared!!! I try and make 2-3 lunches at a time, and large evening meals so I have a couple of portions for the freezer. Iceland do slimming world ready meals for the days when you don't have time or can't be bothered.

Good luck 😁

Thanks for those tips beck. A friend lost a significant amount a while back and seemed to eat loads and loads. I love eating so hopefully I'll find the thing that works long term for me. I like low carb and hate pasta, my friend lived on pasta, please tell me I don't have to eat a lot of it!

I only eat pasta about once a week. There's so many lovely recipes out there that are easy to make.

Pinkroseuk · 08/11/2018 21:35

Anyone else tried to download the app and got it to work?! It says it's no available to me!

beckslovestimmy · 12/11/2018 14:35

Definitely don't have to eat lots of pasta, if you like low carb the SP days might suit you. Lots of protein and fruit and veg and 2 small limited portions of carbs?

Groovee · 12/11/2018 15:09

The SP plan is changing. 1 b choice and 2 A choices.
