Hi all. I'm going to my first SW meeting this week (want to lose a stone at least) but need to do food shopping this weekend. What should I buy as SW essentials to have in my fridge/store cupboards for the week? I don't eat meat by the way.

Fedup when you go to your first SW meeting you will be given books containing recipes etc., to help you on your way. They have just published a SW book "Take 5" and as it says in the title the recipes use only 5 ingredients, worth buying. Good luck on your weight loss journey, I have lost 16 lbs in 10 weeks.

I find stocking your spices and herbs up along with stock cubes, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, fry light of different flavours are my staples.

You could pop a SW magazine in your trolley, and refer to it for ideas for items to buy (recipes and storecupboard).

Loads of fruit, loads of veg. Eggs, stuff to make omlette, salads. Fat free dairy, stuff like yoghurt, cottage cheese. Cereal is synned so what do you want for breakfast that's not cereal? Spray fat.

Thanks everyone. I like fruit with porridge oats for breakfast with fat free yogurt - is that OK. Or poached egg on toast.

Porridge oats ok 40g portion. Wholesale toast ok

Oats and toast both fine for HEB but don't forget your speed food - berries are good with oats and I often added fried courgette/mushrooms or wilted spinach to my egg on toast.

I'd get a load of veggies and make a chunky soup (add lentils or beans for protein) then blitz it up when you get bored of that! Always have a soup on the go and will often have a small portion when I cook the kids tea to stop me snacking.
