I've just joined a Facebook group who swap SW recipes.

When people have made something they post the pics and recipes.

Every other comment is "Looks lush"

Is that now a thing?! GrinWink

Lol not for me!

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 22/08/2018 18:45

My DP and his family say it. They’re from South Wales, not sure if it’s a thing to say there?

Synecdoche · 22/08/2018 18:46

It is in Bristol! 🤣

GoblinSharts · 22/08/2018 19:14

Yes it is my way too... and people keep using the 💪🏻 For everything too...
Example:

Salad today 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Blitzed today, I’m doing so well with my lush rabbit food 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I might have to unfollow my group 😂

I’ve put all my SW groups onto “mute” so i can still follow them, but they don’t come up on my feed constantly. If I’m looking for recipe/inspiration I just go into the group from my profile menu.

I think “Gavin and Stacey” are to blame for the popularity of “lush”.

I really struggle with “nom nom” which tends to get used far more often than “lush” in these parts. I find it so annoying! That I want to slap the person saying it! (Am usually really calm)

TeaByTheSeaside · 22/08/2018 23:49

Good idea waterlemon I think I'll do the same.

We say it here. I never say it though lol I see it all over Insta as well Grin

tabulahrasa · 24/08/2018 16:32

Delish is the one that makes me go Angry at least lush is a whole word, lol

ThePricklySheep · 24/08/2018 16:33

(Isn’t it short for luscious?)

tabulahrasa · 24/08/2018 16:37

Hmm, that hadn’t occurred to me, I figured it was like lush vegetation or someone who is a lush... as in just a word in its own right...

I suppose it could be though?

raisedbyguineapigs · 24/08/2018 19:54

I hate nom nom. Its the most horrible phrase. I can cope with lush and delish, but that gives me the rage!

Gablexy · 24/08/2018 22:12

Agree ‘nom’ is the worst offender. I just clicked on a video on a SW site expecting a recipe demo but all that happened was the recipe name came up followed by ‘nom’ flying onto the screen 3 times. Stuff of nightmares.

OwlinaTree · 04/09/2018 06:51

I picked up lush when living in South Wales!

Nousernameforme · 04/09/2018 14:45

For me it's when someone describes something as tasting naughty. I get visions of a sw burger getting out the whips and chains. It's enough to put you off your overnight oats

mintich · 04/09/2018 14:55

I say lush but I did spend my teen years in the West Country!

redexpat · 04/09/2018 14:59

Only lush? Not well lush? Grin Def a west country thing.

sunshineNdaisies · 04/09/2018 17:51

lol @ "lush"

I find all the inspiration posts to be annoying. It's all people who have lost absolutely loads, never anyone who's lost a small amount or someone who took ages to lose. It's always those who lost 10 stone in 3 months or something. Great for them, but still makes you feel a bit shit for not doing as well.
