Hi

so I have just rejoined and typically we have a lot going on socially in the next few weeks the first of which is a meal at an Indian restaurant. My biggest problem is that I really don't like spicy food so would normally have a korma or pasanda, both of which are really high in syns. Can anybody suggest something I could have that is low in syns and won't blow my head off.

Thanks x

Chicken tikka with the sauce on the side could be a good shout!
Though I’m just rejoining tonight after nearly two years so might have changed loads since then.

Chickpea dahl would be about 5 syns.

Tandoori chicken is about 9 syns.

The chicken tikka that comes just the chicken with boiled rice would most likely be your best bet.

Any of the tandoori meat is low in syns, not sure of exact amount but I know it is low other than the oil. Plain boiled rice, onion salad etc. As long as you're avoiding the creamy sauces you can't go wrong - something like a vegetable rogan josh or dopiaza is always good; if it's a tomato based curry, go for the veg or prawn option as the meat is always very well marinated in oil to stop it from going dry, something that isn't as essential with the creamy sauces.

Chicken shashlik and count 6 syns for minimal oil.
