Went to my first group last night, but felt the consultant didn’t explain very well.

Can someone bullet point it?

What I get is;

As much free food as you want
X amount of healthy extras ( something about a and b choices) but confusing.
5-15 Syns per day. That’s quite a range!!

Its not as much free food as you want. For every meal, you should have 1/3 of a plate of speed food ( the food in your book with an 's' symbol by it) The rest can be filled with free food.
Snacks should be free food or syns.
A healthy extra a is calcium rich from milk or cheese
Healthy extra B is fibre from cereals, bread, nuts etc. YOu have one each a day.
I would say if your consultant didn't explain that, go to a different group. The group makes the difference. The diet is a good one if you follow it properly, but from some of the comments on MN, people have an experience completely different to the one Ive had, with bizarre consultants who havent read their own literature.
