Hi!
So been doing slimming world for a week. Had my first weigh in today and lost 2lbs!

Please can people give me some ideas for snacks?? The reason I'm asking is my sugar levels drop very easily sometimes. When this happens I feel really sick and just need food so I end up binge eating which obviously isn't Good!

So I was just wondering if people can give me some ideas of snacks you have? I always have plenty of fruit on me but when I get to that point, fruit doesn't really help.

Smile

Have you had your blood sugar levels checked for something like hypogylcemia?
I find eating little and often works for me. If I eat 3 big meals a day then there’s too much time in between for my blood sugar to start dropping again.
High protein snacks will be best for blood sugars - so something like a light baby bel, yogurt or bit of chicken/ham. Peanut butter on a rice cake is good too. Fruit is high in sugar so can make you crash quickly after having it (obviously don’t cut it out as it’s good for you in lots of other ways, but maybe just don’t always have it as a snack. Berries are very low in sugar compared to something like banana or apple).

Thanks Frosty!

Yeah I've been checked and everything came back clear!

I think I'm obviously the same where I need to eat little and often, it's just finding the right snacks for me that are either free or really low syn

Boiled eggs are very sustaining. I sometimes treat myself to quail eggs, easier to eat on the go. SW crustless quiche is good. I make one with salmon, courgette and peppers.

Raw veggie sticks instead of fruit. Although I do eat a punnet of berries a day. Dip the veggies in cottage cheese or houmous (hxb)

I take little pots of meat to work with me- Tesco bbq chicken (1.5 for the whole pack), gammon, ham. Filling and easy.

Or a boiled egg.

I have been having eggs, veggies, fruit, yogurts and ham for syn free options.

Hifi/breakfast bars are my synned options but I try to keep to a one a day as I want to use my syns for other things.

HiFi Bars are my go to snack, I know they are syns but they keep me satisfied especially if I want chocolate!

Fruit is a good option as well, I like the berry pots you get in supermarkets.

Make your own hummous and dip veggies in it, I like carrots and cucumber sticks!

Make yr own potato crisps. Thinly slice a spud on a mandolin (watch yr fingers), lay out on a baking sheet, spray with frylite and sprinkle with salt and ground chilli. Shove in an oven (200 deg?) until crispy.

Syn free on green

@LellyM we don't do green/red days anymore and that recipe you've given is classed as a tweak (but I suppose if it's only one potato then you wouldn't really be overeating it).

@MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup What is a tweak?

A tweak is using a free food to make it into something that is not free as it's easy to over eat them.
