Saw this recipe for frozen yoghurt in the latest Tesco mag which looks really nice.
However it requires you to blend the frozen berrie which I think I have to syn. Is that right? If so does anyone know how many syns this would be??
TIA

Blended fruit - syns??

1.5 syn per 100g if you're pureeing/blending the berries

Why are blended fruit syned? So blitzing then into skimmed milk (hex a), would then be syned?
So if you add berries on top of oats to make overnight oats, are they free despite mushing down during the night?

@tadpole73 they're synned because when you blend fruit, it releases more sugar and it doesn't have any "filling power" than if you eat fruit in its natural form. For instance, if you just eat a whole plum in its true form, you'd feel full and satisfied because of its filling power but if you blend it into a smoothie, you're more likely to add more than what you would eat, which means you'll consume more calories and also more sugar.

I think with this, if you choose to, you could use common sense eg if you mash up a banana and put it on toast I wouldnt syn it as you would only eat 1 banana any way...

So been on slimming world now for 1 year and have managed to loose 2½ stone (approx 35- 40lb ) and way I lost all of this within the 1st 6 months since then and for past 6 months I've constantly maintaijed matter what I try... so i figured id try smoothies 2x day and 1 main meal all still keeping within my SW Plan using my HEA HEB etc but instead of syning wine cooking oil choc treats etc I'd use my syns on the fruit in smoothies most of my smoothies are filled with spinache and kale tbf and poss some oats (HEB) so the amount of fruit added wud be minimal but I cannot fine a list of any fruits and there syn value to even work it out.... so if anyone has a link that wud be great the book doesn't say much.
And also if we have to syn blended FRESH fruit why does the SW app say FREE to FROZEN SMOOTHIE packs.
And also does kale and spinache become syned because they are being blended I mean everything contains sugar so ud think that but I don't think u do. So for me it all doesn't make sense.
I'd mash a banana in my mouth no diff to blending one ? Same with orange or a soft peach... they all go mushy.... anyway I will use my syn toward the blended fruit even tho I find it pointless but can somone send me a list or link please xx
TIA xSmile

“I cannot fine a list of any fruits and there syn value to even work it out.”

It’s written in the pack, and it’s on the searches on the website and app.

“And also if we have to syn blended FRESH fruit why does the SW app say FREE to FROZEN SMOOTHIE packs.“

Because when you buy them, they’re not blended yet.

“And also does kale and spinache become syned because they are being blended”

Into smoothies or juices, yes.

“I'd mash a banana in my mouth no diff to blending one ?”

Well it’s pretty different tbh... because you’re chewing, chewing is part of what makes you feel full.
