SW breastfeeding

Anyone doing SW while breastfeeding and fancy a support thread? I started a few days ago - lost 2.5 stone on normal plan after DS (formula fed) so I know it works but have heaps of extra HEXs to get my head around this time, DD is just coming up for 5 months old.

Hi Smile

I started a month a go but due to 3 birthdays, a funeral, my parents divorce and a weekend away I've only lost 3.5lbs so far.
My DD is 8 months and I'm still BFing her 2-3 times a day, and she also has a couple of bottles. I find weight comes off easier when I'm good (must be the extra calories breastfeeding burns) but when I'm bad I just CANT STOP SNACKING. Angry

Luxecalmeetvolupte · 30/04/2018 21:13

I'm only giving DD a very occasional bottle when I need to leave her, so am on the full quota of 5-6 HEXs for the next few weeks - this is literally the only thing stopping me eating all day long as I'm eating so much cheese Blush Sounds like you have had a pretty rough time of late, losing 3.5lb is admirable enough!!

My parents are also getting divorced - in their 70s - stressful for everyone...

Hiya. I'm still BF my 8 month old
8am -8pm she had formula but bed time and over night it's breast.

She's still waking up every few hours but that's another thread.

I just have 2 of each for my HEX.

I've lost 18lbs in 8 weeks. I really want to get another 10lbs in 4 weeks. Doable but difficult.

I'm going to do more exercise and not lapse to snacking on chocolate. I've had a couple of silly gains and I need to focus on it fully.

How are you all doing? Sorry to hear about the bad things going on.

TinyPawz · 03/05/2018 00:39

I stopped sw when discovered I am pregnant but hopefully will be starting back again when baby comes. How many hex per day? Is that the only difference? Still allowed 15 syns?

EffthisS · 03/05/2018 09:23

You get a guide for the HE. I think it's up to 6.
Depends on your consultant I think for the syns. I've always done 10.

Luxecalmeetvolupte · 04/05/2018 22:49

Sorry for radio silence, this thread disappeared off my list for some reason.

I lost 5.5lb in week 1 which I was massively pleased with, especially considering that all the extra HEXs have left me feeling like I am eating all the cheese! The guideline for an EBF 4-6mth old is 6 HEXs in total, of which 3 or 4 should be A's. Once you start weaning it decreases though so I'm getting it in while I can! Finding it fairly easy to stick to for this reason - I followed the "usual" plan first time I did it and this feels luxurious by comparison!

Should have said that's the advice in the SW breastfeeding leaflet, it also advises having the full 15 Syns per day.

Well done! I put 1.5lb on but I had my first time away from baby at a wedding with drinking so I don't mind.

Trying to get 3.5lb off this week to get my stone and a half.

EffthisS · 06/05/2018 21:23

It does feel like a lot of cheese for a diet. And I love cheese!

Needmorehands · 06/05/2018 21:43

Marking my place ready for when this baby finally hatches!
Any tips on what I get to eat would be welcome, thank you
Did SW 2yrs ago and lost 3.5 stone, and am still lighter at 38 weeks than I was then, can't wait to see what the scales say I'll lose when Lumpy is born :D

Wannabecitygirl · 09/05/2018 09:21

Hello! I’m bfing a one year old and have finally had enough of my flab. Going to find a meeting and get rid of some of it!!!

Needmorehands · 09/05/2018 09:44

Good luck Wannabe, SW worked really well for me once I got my head into it - which largely meant stopping eating munchy crap in teh evenings once DC asleep!
And I'm really hoping the SPD clears quickly so I can get more active again soon

Mummyme87 · 10/05/2018 07:25

Hi ladies!
I am a serial as SW-er. Just joined a couple of weeks ago for the billionth time. I lost 4.5lb first week then 0.5lb yesterday which I am pleased with, had a crap week of illness (me, 3yr old and Baby) plus the bank hol.. ended up with dominos, ice cream, cake, white bread 🐷

So I have a 3 nearly 4yr old boy and a 16week boy. We are exclusively breastfeeding so hoping the weight comes off a bit easier!
Incentives.. get out of mat clothes (I did lose all my pregnancy weight bar 4lb by 4weeks postnatal), be in a smaller scrub size when I go back to work (I work as a labour ward midwife) and I have just booked my wedding for April 2020

Luxecalmeetvolupte · 10/05/2018 23:02

1.5lb off this week - really pleased shifting 0.5st in two weeks BUT I am going away tomorrow until Wed to see family (amongst this bloody divorce!) and it won't be possible to stay firmly on plan at all, so expecting a gain or maintain at best next week. I'm going to need to lose about 4st this time; DD was much smaller than DS was and I was lighter at the start of this pregnancy than my first, but somehow I still weigh more at this point... About a stone of it must easily be boob though, I'm a 40F!!

Ate 60g of lovely cheddar from a posh cheese shop in one go today for 2 of my HEXAs. I really enjoyed it!

Hi all, I’ve lost just over 2st since Jan doing the breastfeeding plan. It’s great - I have cheese every day! Have just started weaning baby.. can anybody remind me what the hex a’s And b’s drop to once weaning starts. I’ve had 15 syns a day (often more like 20) since starting and the weight has come off. I do limit the rice and pasta in the evening meal though, which has helped

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2018 02:49

The HE gradually drop by 1, it doesn’t dictate how many really. Depends how much baby feeds

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2018 03:04

Weighed yesterday, 2.5lb off.. 7.5lb total 🎉

Needmorehands · 17/05/2018 08:00

Well done Mummyme87 :)
DD arrived last Friday night weighing 8lb9, and I lost 11lbs at weigh in on Saturday morning! Hope I haven't put too much of it back on this week :D

Mummyme87 · 17/05/2018 09:45

I lost 1lb every two days until I got to 4lb off booking weight then went on again!
