Bean Burger help wanted

ClickHip · 29/04/2018 10:53

I've made slimming world bean burgers and tried a couple of other different recipies that fit in with the plan but they always end up quite dry and crumble apart.

I'm after something that will hold together that I can take for lunches on the go. I'm sick of the quiche.

Any ideas/ suggestions most welcome

I make burgers with grated courgette, carrot and beetroot (raw) chopped red onion - soften in fry light. Pulse a tin of chickpeas and 1 slice of whole meal bread (hxb) then mix altogether.

I usually reheat in the oven.

Ah...more veggis might be the way forward then...do you need an egg to bind it?

Bind with an egg if not vegan or a dah of tomato ketchup/purée

Jack Monroe's carrot cumin and kidney bean burger is lush, and sticks together and is very versatile for other things (meatballs, soup etc)

Dash! And Worcester sauce

Ooh thanks Annie, they sound nice...

I've just tried the slimming world ones again but added grated carrot & courgette. I grilled them instead of doing the in the oven. I've had a sample one...and it seems a bit better ..its nice to have a bit of meat free sometimes...
