Fist week 1.5lb off - expected more - too many carbs?

Hi all

No I know its my first week and I know a loss is a loss but I expected more? I have always struggled to lose weight when eating carbs, wondering if this is the problem as I ate pasta pretty much every day! Your views would be appreciated x

Portion sizes? Was a third of every meal speed veg?

A few people at my class have had bigger losses 2/3 weeks down the line. Others have little losses but it all adds up.

I would try mixing things up a bit more though.

I lost that my first week. I've now lost over 3st. It's a longer journey, but I know I'm eating in a sustainable way.

You could try eating brown pasta and rice, bit more roughage!

OP, pasta every day shouldn't be a problem, as long as a third of your plate is speed foods.
I think sometimes the first week's loss is not as much as hoped because excess calories were still to show on the scales from the week before your first weigh-in, IYKWIM: especially if you were overindulging with the thought that you were starting SW, so might as well leave" being good "until after you join.
Hopefully, your efforts will show at your next weigh-in, so don't be disheartened: keep at it, because it works.

As long as you're following the plan, then it is fine! Next week you may have a bigger loss. I guess you could try minimising carbs and see how that goes?! Replace spaghetti with spiralised carrots / courgette, rice with cauliflower rice or broccoli rice, etc! Good luck :) and well done on your 1.5lb loss x
