Snacks that aren’t fruit or yogurt

I’m getting really sick of fruit and yogurt, especially in the cold weather. I need something a bit more soft and scrumptious (can’t think of a better word).

I make some oat cookies every now and again that I save my hexb for.
Has anyone got any ideas of something similar?
I’d rather keep them syn free, but can use my hex for but very low syn will also do.

Anything without fruit ideally!

Should have said sweet snacks, ideally!

Sugar free jelly

Groovee · 04/03/2018 21:29

I eat quark a lot. A lady at my class puts an options sachet in hers.

Jelly, the 10 cal pots are half a syn or its 1.5 syns for a sachet made up.

I eat carrots and sugar snap peas a lot with pickled onions.

Do u mean more starchy ? Jelly is too cold and much like yoghurt

OwlinaTree · 04/03/2018 23:07

Meranges are quite low syn.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 04/03/2018 23:13

Pickled eggs. Not exactly sweet, though. Sorry!

FrozenMargarita17 · 04/03/2018 23:14

Yes was going to say meringues. Sometimes nice with the fruit/yoghurt!! I've also read a recipe for salted caramel chocolate rice pudding.. I'll try find it

FrozenMargarita17 · 04/03/2018 23:16

Here's the recipe and photo. I haven't tried it but it looks delicious !

PlaymobilPirate · 04/03/2018 23:16

Ham / eggs

IntoTheFloodAgain · 04/03/2018 23:43

mmmmm @frozen that looks lovely.

@farmerswife yes a bit more starchy or even something a bit creamier.

Fruit just doesn’t do much for my sweet tooth except get stuck in it!

Sweet cloud bread sandwich with whipped quark and raspberry filling. I can almost pretend it’s a Victoria sponge. If you use less than 1tbsp sweetener per portion then it’s free. Still a bit fruit and yoghurt-y though maybe...
Baked oats are also good if you want to use your HexB.

IntoTheFloodAgain · 05/03/2018 14:25

@CuriousHedgehog oooo cloud bread looks enough like cake to me! I’ve just had a quick look online, some recipes say cream of tartar (is that free), some say vinegar?
How do you make it?

Although fruit and yoghurty my fav desert at minute is fat free yoghurt with a meringue nest broken up stirred on with berries Low Syn and delicious

CuriousHedgehog · 05/03/2018 15:41

I use baking powder (because it was what I had in the cupboard and it works!), which is half a syn for a tsp, but I use half a tsp to make 8, then eat them two at a time, so they are only 0.06 syns per serving which is pretty much free in my opinion. They are more meringue-y than anything (nothing like real bread!) but I enjoy them!

Quiche muffins. Follow the SW Quiche recipe, but divide them into muffin tins/cupcake moulds. Lovely, syn free snack :)
