My group leader told me that SW are currently in talks with Aldi to make these official. I had the chicken tikka masala tonight. It was gross. Much prefer the real SW tikka masala.
Are any of the others any better?

I read on the cardboard packing of one of them yesterday ( think it was the chicken tikka one but can't be sure), "Made in the UK using Thai chicken."
Shock

You'll find that Thai (or Brazillian) chicken is used in a lot of the cheaper ready meals ladybirds.

I liked the slimwell chicken tikka masala. I added extra onions, garlic, spinach and a spoonful of garam masala in it

AthenasOwl · 19/03/2018 22:39

I have tried them, I don't like them. Iv not tried any of the slimming world ones though so I can't compare.

RavenLG · 20/03/2018 22:14

Much prefer the Aldi ones to SW actual tasteless slop.
The sweet potato curry is really good.

sinceyouask · 20/03/2018 22:17

The bean and veg chili one is dreadful. I only ate half, and I was blooming hungry beforehand- my standards really weren't that high.

crazycatgal · 20/03/2018 22:26

The Aldi ones are miles better than the Slimming World meals in Iceland. I like Aldi's chicken saag and chicken tikka yet every meal that I've tried from the Iceland SW range has gone in the bin.

FluffAndFluster · 22/03/2018 16:56

Are the Aldi ones Syn Free?

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 23/03/2018 07:09

@FluffAndFluster not all of them are syn free. The chicken tikka masala, spicy Morrocan vegetable stew, Bolognaise Ragu, And sweet potato curry are all syn free (according to the syn calculator), I asked sw when will they put it on the database but they can't give me a definite answer... I think they're hesitant because it means their profit on the Iceland meals will go down the sh!tter as Aldi are a lot cheaper than Iceland range.

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 23/03/2018 07:10

Oh and chicken saag is free too x

FluffAndFluster · 23/03/2018 07:31

Great thanks.

Tuckingfypo · 23/03/2018 07:36

The cottage pie was absolutely vile Envy

But the bolognese is lovely!

Branleuse · 23/03/2018 07:36

i had to throw the sweet potato curry away. I only got it because it was vegetarian, and it was so sweet it was practically a dessert, with a real overpowering taste of artificil sweetners.

FluffAndFluster · 23/03/2018 10:42

Ok so bolognese. Any others to get/not get?

Craignixon88 · 20/01/2020 23:21
