Frozen Fruit

If I put hot water on frozen berries to thaw them, are they now considered cooked? And thus synable?

I was thinking about making a cold crumble-style thingy with frozen berries and hex a oats with a bit of sweetener & maybe a muller yogurt mixed for the topping. That would be a tasty dessert.

Sounds a bit like overnight oats. I count that as free.

I would count those berries as free.

Whether fruit is frozen or defrosted or even cooked it has the same calories- i.e. one raspberry has the same amount of calories whether fresh, frozen fresh or cooked. Pouring boiling water on frozen fruit only thaws it, it doesn't cook it so they're definitely syn-free.

I think the reason that SW says you have to count cooked fruit is because you can easily eat more of it- for example a baked apple is much easier to munch down in seconds than a fresh one- the calories are the same but maybe you will eat two baked apples whereas one fresh one!
