My first day. Is this ok?

Could you analyse what I ate for my first day on Slimming World.

Breakfast - 2 wheatabix and SS milk (healthy extra a&b)
lunch - chicken salad, muller light and a low cal jelly (half a syn I think).
Tea - quorn pieces cooked in chopped tomatoes, kidney beans, broccoli, carrots, leak and onion.
Snacks - a plum, grapes and a hifi bar (3 syns).

Is that ok?
I know I could do healthier than the low cal jelly, muller light and could swap grapes for a speed food but overall is it ok? I've felt ok.

Did you have anything with the quorn pieces? I’d still be hungry with no pasta/rice.

waitingforlifetostart · 06/02/2018 18:10

Tomorrow I was thinking:

Breakfast - 2 egg omelate with peppers and onion.
Lunch - chicken salad, muller light, plums.
Tea - finish the quorn and veg.

Snacks- hifis, fruit and maybe a bag of buttons as I'm working late.

Is that ok?

I need to save some syns for visiting friends at the weekend.

Purpledaisy - No because I'd added kidney beans.

Don't be afraid to have some carbs - it's hard to get your head around I know but I had carbs every day last week (my first week) either pasta or potatoes and I'd lost 3.5 pounds at weigh in yesterday!

waitingforlifetostart · 06/02/2018 20:41

I did have carbs: wheatabix, a hifi bar, fruit, a muller light, kidney beans etc.

You need some carbs. The hifi bar is too small to really count and the Muller Light and fruit aren't carbs!

You can eat pasta, rice, couscous, potatoes as 1/3 of your plate, with the other 2/3 speed and protein. This will enable you to realistically keep going instead of giving up after a short time.

waitingforlifetostart · 07/02/2018 21:04

I'm confused as wheatabix is carbs, fruit definitely is, muller light isn't carb heavy but has carbs in it. Hifis are 11g of carbs despite being small. I think that's having carbs??

As it happens, I have pasta planned tomorrow but with having kidney beans in my quorn I didn't feel I needed pasta or rice. I wasn't deliberately restricting ifyswim.

Tomorrow I'm planning:
breakfast - porridge.
lunch egg salad, yoghurt and fruit.
Tea - tuna, pasta and veg.

Snacks - fruit, maybe some chocolate or a hifi.

As long as you feel full that's what matters.

waitingforlifetostart · 08/02/2018 18:37

I wouldn't say I feel full but I don't feel massively hungry either.

Tomorrow I'm planning:
Breakfast: wheatabix
Lunch: egg salad, muller light and fruit.
Tea: 2 chicken chargrills, veg and gravy (10 syns)
snacks: fruit and veg sticks.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend the hi fi bars. They always left me wanting more food rather than less.

waitingforlifetostart · 08/02/2018 18:43

Flop - that's good to know. I'll keep an eye on that. They seem like a good sweet treat but I'll kerp an eye that they aren't making things worse.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 08/02/2018 18:48

I used to think they helped and one day had an epiphany that they actually made it worse! I do a square of choc or fudge instead.
I think the main thing is to really make sure you get as many unprocessed speed foods in. That made all the difference to my losses.

waitingforlifetostart · 10/02/2018 21:54

Today I had:
breakfast
a 2 egg omelate
a banana

lunch
a ham sandwich (out with a friend)

Tea
homemade veg soup

Snacks
grapes
chocolate
2 hifis.

22 syns. Eeeek!

Breakfast - cooked blackberry and apple (healthy extra).
Lunch - chicken stir fry and noodles.
Tea - homemade veg soup.

Snacks - hifi (3 syns), muller light & grapes.

I'd love some guidance on my meals. Am I doing the right sort of things?
Think I've lost about 2-3lbs but won't know properly until weigh in tomorrow.

Was it baked oats for breakfast? Remember to syn the fruit of you baked them with the fruit.

waitingforlifetostart · 12/02/2018 08:11

No. It was just cooked apple and blackberry.
