My head isn’t in it!

First time I did SW, I got four pounds away from target, then left because I was starting to gain.
Second and third time, failed first week or second week and never went back.
This time, I’ve lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks, was really pleased and the last two weeks I’ve messed it up. Even tried blind weighing but can’t stop binging, free food is just so damn unsatisfying when all you want is 🍫 and 🍷... that’s another thing I weigh on a Friday and usually ‘blow it’ as if I have more than one large glass of red I am over syns!
Probably gonna get slated for being an unmotivated self sabotaging fatty which I actually would agree with at the minute! I used to feel good about myself when I was size ten now I am 14 and heavier than ever been before.
Keep getting on my (admittedly broken) scales and they say I’ve put between 4 and 11 pounds on, it fluctuates by half a stone depending on where the the house they are... but I’m 2 pounds lighter on SW scales so I just don’t know! Should I just sack it and try something else?

This sounds like a really silly question - how are you with budgeting money? can you stick within a budget or do you spend too much and get into debt?

I know how you feel. I'm doing slimming world but at home as can't go the classes, tried it before and failed cos my head wasn't really in it and I couldn't control myself around food.
Something has just clicked this time and I know I won't give up. I've lost 17 pounds in my first three weeks and sometimes it's hard to keep motivated, but the thought of being slim is now more important to me than food. Alpen light bars and fat free yogurts keep me going when I'm craving chocolate.

I'm great through the week and then just lose all control at the weekend.

becotide not a stupid question at all, I am aware it’s my personality in other aspects of life. In answer to your question I find sticking to a budget EXTREMELY hard. Got into a lot of debt when I was younger and even now I blow the weekly budget then go into the next weeks (a bit like syns I use them all up on day one!)
I’m all or nothing with everything, but 80/20 towards the all side Blush

So with that in mind, maybe you need to look at how many calories you're packing in a day? bearing in mind, you probably need around 2000, if you're eating 500 a day over (so a chocolate bar and a packet of crisps) then you're going to gain a pound a WEEK.

That's 52 pounds a year.

So even if you aren't bothered about losing weight, and ok with staying a size 14 - how do you feel about gaining 3 stone and 2 dress sizes in a year?

waterfall0119 · 29/01/2018 18:35

That would be horrific.

Everything you've been doing between being a size 10 and becoming a size 14 is still happening unless you make an effort to properly change it. And that same Gain, if not stopped by you, WON'T STOP

have you seen secret eaters? These people don't get to 17 stone on purpose, it's just a bite here and a chocolate bar there and a takeaway because they're tired, and five years later they've had 200 calories a day extra and now they're 5 stone overwieght

there, do you feel motivated now?

Harsh but very true, just what I needed to hear to be honest.
Will get back in the game —tomorrow— right now Grin

That's the mantra I keep in my head atm waterfall. I am much fatter than you and probably older. IT HAS TO GO.
