Anyone else ballsed it all up over Christmas?

So I decided I wasn't going to stick to plan for the two weeks over xmas, well the two weeks has been and gone and I'm struggling so much to get back on track. I feel like all my motivation has disappeared into thin air and I can't even make it half a day without sticking my hand in the biscuit tin.

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

ME! Decided the week before Christmas to 'relax' and well... I relaxed too much and ate chocolate every day and according to my home scales am basically back where I started. Had lost 12lbs so really gutted but totally understand it's my own fault. Have about 4 stone to lose to be happy so it's a long way to go.

Too scared to go back to group Blush

Go to group. I'd say 80% of the group is feeling very similar to how you are!

Remember, it's what you do between New Year and Christmas that counts, not what you do between Christmas and New Year.

Groovee · 04/01/2018 12:20

I had a birthday a week before Christmas and lost the plot. On the 27th I realised I needed to sort myself out.

I weighed in yesterday and I only have 9lbs to target. Fingers crossed it will be off soon.

I've hauled out my books, have decided to try new recipes and menu planned. The fruit bowl is full and I'm determined to do it.

Pull up a photo of when you started and remember how hard you worked to get to where you are.

I'm finding it really hard to get back on track too. Focus and making sure there is no chocolate in the house is my plan!

latedecember1963 · 04/01/2018 15:19

You are definitely not the only one! I woke up in the early hours with a splitting headache that I can only put down to chocolate withdraw as I've eaten loads of it over the last 2 weeks. Yesterday was my first proper day not eating chocolate, shortbread and mince pies.

I like Emwithme's philosophy. I'm going to write it on a post-it note and put it on our biscuit barrel.

fastfrank · 04/01/2018 17:25

@emwithme that's a good mantra.

It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one but also I am sorry that you're all also having a hard time. I will go to group and face the music I think, I always seem to sabotage my efforts and think Christmas was a convenient excuse.

I went to group yesterday and there was a total group gain of 70lbs! I personally had gained 4.5lbs. Have done a meal plan to try and get back on track but finding it hard not to snack.

LibbyLomax · 06/01/2018 20:07

MEEEE! I gained 6.5 lbs!!! Shock ... although it's not like it happened out of no where, a lot of mince pies and cream were consumed and not only on christmas day. I found it very hard to actually stop eating too! Know that sounds crazy but after a while my body was used to the xmas junk. It's my first time being in sw over christmas so was terrified to step back on the scales after taking 3 weeks out but i needn't be as everyone was so nice and all had their blips over christmas (apart from slimmer of the week who lost 2.5lbs!)

It's been a good week so far for me today, planning on going out for long walks too to keep me active as I'm out of work temporarily. Hoping i can lose the gained weight within 2-3 weeks and then start again properly in late Jan.

monkeysaymonkeydo · 08/01/2018 20:17

I've put on for the last 3 weeks now. 5lbs in total. I got my 1.5 stone award just before Christmas so part of me feels guilty that I'm undoing my good work but the other part still wants to eat chocolate and cheese!

Been to group tonight though and decided I'm starting like I did at the beginning. Got my meal plan for the week and doing a food diary. Going to get back and focus. Good luck everyone!

I’m struggling with withdrawal from booze and snacks. I’m veggie and find it hard going all day without snacks but hard to find snacks which are not meat and after a fortnight of cheese? Blimey. It’s like going cold turkey- there’s a pub there somewhere.
Booze free today and eaten on plan so that’s ok. Just need to keep making new recipes and soups to fill me up. We can do it. I’m sure we can

HotelEuphoria · 14/01/2018 08:04

Me too! Two weeks for Christmas and new year then went on holiday to a cold country that had no vegetables and fed stodge for a week. Ok they didn't force me to drink wine every day but still....

Now 5.5 pounds heavier and I was nearly at a stone loss, had a really difficult few days getting back into it. Still struggling but persevering.
