I’m trying to decide if slimming world is for me- can someone explain basically what is a syn and what is syn free - am I right in thinking syn free is unlimited?

Everyone gets 5-15 syns per day.

Pasta, fruit and veg, potatoes most meat, fat free yoghurt are free.

You also get a dairy and fibre allowance each day.

I'd recommend it personally. It's pretty simple once you get going and learn what you can/can't do.

Your syns are things like oil, crisps, biscuits.

You'll only weigh your healthy extras which are your fibre and calcium intake.

Speed foods are certain fruits and veg, but not all of them. The rest of them are free along with certain nests, fish, pasta, rice, noodles, potatoes.

You aim to have 1/3rd speed on your plate to reduce your portions of other things. If you aren't clear ask questions. We've all been New to the plan.
