Hello,
Thinking of starting sw. I am about 1-1.5 stones over what I want to be. This is due to my over active thyroid which is now medicated and although I have reduced the amount of food I was eating before the weight is creeping on.

Is it suitable for someone without loads to lose? I'm also hoping I could get my OH to go too. He does have a lot more to lose than I do, its just whether I could get him there.

Hi bassetmum. This is my first week on SW, but I did do it many years ago with good results.

I have just over 4 stone to lose, but you could comfortably lose a stone in 6 weeks. There are minimum weight requirements to join, what height are you? You must have at least 7lbs to lose and be a healthy BMI with that.

Hi basset I joined 10 weeks ago with 20 pounds to lose. You will find that there are all shapes and sizes in the group. Yes there are some with lots to lose, but there are also those who have lost and are at target and those with a smaller amount. Don't be put off, I have had comments like "you don't need to be here" but our consultant is always clear that our weight (whatever it is) affects us all. I'm losing slowly - 1.5 - 2 pounds per week. Good luck!

Thanks both. I am 5ft8 and just over 12 stone.

Ok, so according to the handbook your minimum target weight is 9 stone 5lbs. That's the lowest target you can have, but obviously this doesn't take into account build, muscle mass etc. it's just an absolute minimum.

I would look really ill that light. I would like to be around 10.5 stone.

I was just about to post the same thing only I've got 8 stones to shift 😱. I've tried everything else but always fall off with motivation after a few months. I'm 40 next year 😥 and I want to look better in clothes, have more energy and get involved in something for me.

Rinky I'm 40 in 15 weeks. Am a pound off 3.5st since January. You can do it.
