why is bread soooo bad?

Quite shocked at how many syns is in bread, especially white. Why is this? If I bake a loaf it has 30g butter in it. Is the flour fattening?

I dont quite get the science behind all this

Rouge, that's why I stopped my fitness pal. Because I would eat the unhealthier option over making something fresh. I used to eat numerous packets of crisps rather than reach for some veg sticks.

I can't eat white bread products. Since cutting lots of bread out o feel much better. I still have it maybe once a week.

But it works for me to do SW.

I'm just finding out about SW and was wondering about bread. Am I right in thinking I can this as my Healthy extra B choice for breakfast and it doesn't count as a syn?

Which types of bread (I prefer brown/whole grain) can I have 2 slices of??

Wholemeal from standard sized loaf = 1 slice
There is a list of smaller or specialist breads where you can have 2 smaller slices.
Various ryvita options too

Kings mill wholemeal crustless is 3 slices as a HE

I'm guessing but I think bread is high in suns rather than free like pasta, potatoes and rice because it's a good that's easy to eat without any prep. If you're hungry it's easy to grab 4 slices of toast or a massive sandwich, but it's a bit of a ball ache to make cook pasta potatoes or rice for your meal, and if you only cook what you need of them you're not going to decide you're still hungry and cook more because who can be arsed with waiting another 15 minutes while their second portion cooks? Bit bread is just there all ready to eat. Admittedly, having to cook everything does my head in a bit re: SW but it really does help me not to binge or over eat.
