Starting again for the final time! Some advice would be appreciated

Morning all!
I started again for what seems like to millionth time! I'm doing it online as I can't make it to any local groups but although I'm not having the support with a group as I did before this time I'm determined and not going to fail!
Could I ask for any advice regarding breakfasts and lunches when on the go? I commute 2 days a week and am gone by 530am, tempted all day by lovely unhealthy things around me. Any ideas welcome, although I can't stand the mug shots/super noodles etc... thank you in advance!

I often cook egg muffins the night before or overnight oats or use all bran instead of oats.

Lunches.. a baked potato with tuna and red onion. Pasta salad with lots of veggies, cous cous with roasted veggies, egg muffins and salad.

I find planning in advance helps a lot.

Thank you Groovee!
I've just made egg muffins for my breakfast train journey, great idea!
I'm going to prep as if my life depends on it 😀

Good luck x

Key for me is to always have something with me to eat (e.g. A bag of almonds which is a hexb) and a bottle of water. At the moment I like snacky lunches with a lump of cheese, apple, ham, salad etc.

I also do overnight oats or similar so there is something I can take with me in the mornings.

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/08/2017 19:10

I always have hard boiled eggs and cooked lean meat in the fridge so I can grab a snack quickly.

I made baked chickpeas as a snack yesterday and they were delicious too. Best eaten hot.

ibuiltahomeforyou · 06/08/2017 21:17

Just to be the tweak police @IheartCaptainHolt roasting chickpeas should, strictly, be synned unless you're a maverick who doesn't play by the SW rules Wink

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/08/2017 21:32

Now I didn't know that ibuilt. I wonder why that is? In use fry lite not oil. However, I also don't syn mashed bananas (as long as not more than 1per portion) so maybe I am a maverick!

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/08/2017 21:46

Answering my own questions now as I've just been reading about tweaks (not heard of it before) and reducing the water and therefore fillingness (even a word?) makes sense.

I'll still eat them again as they would be nice on a salad but will syn them (not sure how many though)

The quest for the lowest syn salty snack continues

Groovee · 06/08/2017 22:38

I like walkers popadoms which are in 13g bags for 3 syns or walkers fusions for 4.5 syns.

IheartCaptainHolt · 07/08/2017 01:38

Thanks groove

@IheartCaptainHolt on the app, dry roasted chickpeas have a sub value of between 4-6.

I never syn smoothies, baked/mashed fruit etc, but i know my consultant is always hot on counting everything!

I've heard Hula Hoops Pufts are good but haven't tried them.

owlsandbadgers · 07/08/2017 18:52

I'll try the popadoms, not a fan of the pufts, they are too much like air for me! Ha! On the train home now and clearly didn't pack enough food as I'm so hungry and can't stop thinking of all things bad!
