Realistic goal???

Ok so I'm going on holiday in Greece in July 2018 and I'm wondering if during that time frame, is losing 7 stone on SW plan a realistic goal??

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has lost that much weight and not had loose skin? I'm wanting to be able to wear swimwear (preferably a nice swimming costume rather than a bikini as wouldn't feel comfortable in a bikini) But I don't want to have loose skin flapping about everywhere. Thanks x

I've lost 3 stone in 13 weeks on Slimmingworld. My overall goal is 6 stone by year in maybe 7 if I can manage it

mumma24 · 24/07/2017 23:20

Yes that's possible in a year to do if you're really committed to the plan. I've seen friends lose that much weight in a year. don't just lose the weight for a holiday, think of it as long term,a new healthier lifestyle for you

Put your mind to it and yes you could.

I lost 3st since January and felt amazing on my holiday, gained a bit but 2 weeks on have lost my gain and more and I had surgery in that time too.

Sorry I didn't want to make out like I'm doing it just for my holiday, it's my motivation as I've tried SW twice now, lost half a stone first time and 1.5stone the second time. I find it really difficult to stick to it, though. I don't go out much due to my weight, as before I fell pregnant, I was very slim so I feel like such a whale. It's awful x

User, my motivation was to have my surgery. Am looking to lose more than was my first goal.

What about breaking it down into smaller targets rather than 7st? I did half stones at a time and have found it more manageable than thinking I wanted 5st off at my first week.

I think it's tough, but maybe doable. I've lost 4 1/2 since January. But the rate of loss has unsurprisingly slowed.

SilverBirchWithout · 30/07/2017 22:57

I've lost 5.5st in 11 months, averaging about 1.5lb a week. If you're determined and focussed, it's definitely doable. Set yourself smaller goals along the way, I aim for a half stone loss every month.
I'm well over 50, but not too much flabby skin, just my upper arms. Legs and stomach fairly ok. I do exercise, swimming and walking mainly, and I think that helps tighten any flab.

How much do you weigh now and what is your height? I've list just over 3 stone in a year (gone from a size 18 to 14) and yes I have saggy skin. However I have also had dc fairly recently too.
