Can someone please explain to me the basic rules of slimming world?

I just don't get it, but maybe it's just me! I have 3 stone to lose, is it the right diet for me?!

I've lost 3 stone on it. It's low fat, low sugar, high fibre diet. If you are prepared to cook your own food from fresh healthy ingredients and eat lots of fruit and veg then it's for you. If you are more of a ready meal, prepacked sauce etc person, maybe weight watchers points might be better.

How long have you been doing it OP?

You need to actually do it, not just google it and guess. You should ideally go to a group, have a consultant explain it to you, and go to the group sessions.

As Owlina said, it's basically low calorie. Focus on filling half your plate with fresh veg.

I've lost 3 stone on it, got about 1.5 to go.

MN is full of people slagging SW off and saying "well if you can have x why can't you have y" - ignore all that. Either do it properly, or don't bother with it. Listen to what they tell you and read the book. Don't try and mix it with other diets.

I've found I had to change my eating habits more than I expected, even though with being 4.5 stone overweight I knew my habits were pretty bad. I've spent ages on food diaries/journals in order to understand where my eating goes wrong. I have to make sure I have loads of veg at breakfast and lunch, otherwise I'll be binging on bread by 5pm.

Good luck!

I've lost 3st too.

Aiming for another 2st.

It's changed my eating habits from munching on various packets of crisps to making better choices.

Maybe try following the menu plans which you can find online.
