I definitely will be the biggest, won't I?

OP posts:

I started at that weight, they are always lovely, good luck!

StinkyMcgrinky · 02/07/2017 14:10

Not at all! I've seen every shape and size at my group and everyone has been treated exactly the same.

ChrisPrattsFace · 02/07/2017 14:16

The biggest in my group was 26st, two others were 23 and a guy was 21. They made a great friendship group quiet quickly and commented on how 'they were the real fatties'
They really are wonderful, and they absolutely will not judge you! Good Iuck!

Mrbrownstone · 02/07/2017 14:16

Honestly I probably judged the little size 8s more wondering what the hell they were doing there!

ChrisPrattsFace · 02/07/2017 14:21

Mrbrownstone. That was me, severe body dysmorphia amongst other issues. So please don't judge who you see there. It's hard for every single person to step through that door.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/07/2017 14:25

Yep I would totally judge

That you're a lucky fucker who will lose 9 pounds in her first week like one lady who did at ours Grin

Well done, hope you love it Flowers

Doodlebug5 · 02/07/2017 15:51

I started at 23 stone 3. Then again at 22 stone 10... it was fine.

ClashCityRocker · 02/07/2017 16:03

There's all sorts of sizes in our group, certainly you wouldn't be the heaviest.

And in fact some of the smaller ones started out as the heavier ones....one lady has lost more than 10 stone. It's very non judgemental.

trinitybleu · 02/07/2017 17:49

I'm 23st plus and not the biggest. They'll welcome you with open arms xx

WeldMeDaphne · 02/07/2017 20:18

Are you me?! That was exactly what I weighed in at on Saturday 😞

trinitybleu · 02/07/2017 20:46

Who me? If so, surely we can split the weight between us and be 11.5st each?!? Grin

Floggingmolly · 02/07/2017 20:47

How can you possibly be too big for a slimming club? Best of luck 🍀

WeldMeDaphne · 02/07/2017 23:26

I meant the OP trinity, but happy to split with you nevertheless 😄

LollipopViolet · 03/07/2017 13:46

Nope, no judgement would happen at my group. Doesn't matter if you have 7 or 70 pounds to lose, there's support for everyone :)

Groovee · 03/07/2017 20:04

I have no idea how to look at someone and guess their weight. If you walk through the door and stay to image therapy, I always give you a smile and try to say hello as weight loss can be a lonely journey at times x

GdayKitty · 03/07/2017 20:07

No they won't judge! I have been to a few different groups and they have all been very friendly and not at all judgey. Good luck Smile

pinkandstripey · 04/07/2017 14:32

I'm on scales most weeks at my group and I couldn't tell you who was the heaviest or lightest person I see :) its focused on lb change every week not what you weigh, if that makes sense :) there is no judgement, and no one apart from you knows what you weigh anyway! :)

GoldenBlue · 07/07/2017 20:22

We had a lady who joined at 31st and has now lost 19st to reach target

photographyaddict · 20/07/2017 16:49

Just seen this thread!

I started SW today at 19st 1lb and my sister started a while ago at 30st so I think you're good! My GW is 10st so I'm very excited to start the journey! :)

Fidom · 29/07/2017 20:00

Definitely go for it. I joined at 20st4 and for I while I think I was the biggest and the target seemed so far away. No one seemed judgemental and the mini-goals every 1/2st and the 10% weight loss have kept me going and I'm down 4 1/2st now.

Plenty more to lose, but I feel so much happier and healthier and would really recommend it.

HeadfirstForHalos · 29/07/2017 20:04

Everyone who attends does so because they're unhappy with their weight, whatever they weigh. I started slimming world at 18st 13 in April, I'm now at 15st 3, others have never been anything but supportive. Good luck ☺

stevie69 · 30/07/2017 22:06

Honestly I probably judged the little size 8s more wondering what the hell they were doing there!

What we're doing there is getting the support to help us stay as 'little size 8s' or whatever weight it is we like to be. I'm a size 8 compulsive overeater (not to the point of having an eating disorder but I eat until I'm a bit too full and tend to put on weight). I will ALWAYS be a compulsive overeater; I genuinely don't believe that I can cure that. However, I no longer overeat and that's due to the weekly support at my weight management class.

I'm there because I have issues related to weight and food; just like everyone else. I'm also there to give support to, and receiver it from, my co-memebers. Together, we're stronger. Together we get there in the end.

S xx
