SW in pregnancy?

I am only in early days of pregnancy and have my booking in appointment at the end of this month.

When I was pregnant with DC1 (now 2.5yo), I gained quite a lot of weight which I've been struggling to shift since. I'm about a stone, (possibly more now), overweight and I am determined not to gain even more weight this time round.

Is it worth asking the mw at my booking in appointment if she will refer me to SW? I don't know what criteria I would need to meet for that?

If it isn't possible to be referred, but my mw will clear me to attend, is it possible to start SW while pregnant?

I don't know if you can be referred, but you can do sw when pg. I'm pretty sure you need your midwife to ok it though.

Thanks owlina.

I will ask my mw at booking in appointment. I'm sure I saw pregnant women at weigh in before - I went to one meeting ages ago but never made it back Blush.

you don't need to be referred, just join up. They have a form that they ask the midwife to sign for you to confirm you are ok to do SW. Also, you could look at the 'choose 2 change' website as they have specific pregnancy pathways.
