What is your group like?

Hi everyone

I have been on just about every diet out there and now find myself the heaviest I have ever been. I few weeks ago I thought I would try SW as I have never done it before and I though group support would be good so I went along to a group. I was really disappointed - it was basically reading out everyone's loses/gains etc and 'what have you done different this week' for the best part of 2 hours - I had hoped to feel really motivated and inspired but I didn't and it felt like such a waste of my Saturday morning - unsurprisingly I haven't been back.

Just wondered - was I unlikely or are all groups like this? What is yours like?

xx

I really enjoy my group, the leader is a but bonkers and funny, and the members are a great bunch. However I have not enjoyed any of the meetings when we've had a stand in, so it's definitely all about the leader.

I've occasionally helped out on weigh in and the people that stayed seemed to lose better and more consistently than those that didn't, maybe just because they were motivated and staying was due to the motivation rather than vice versa? But definitely was a correlation.

I'm at target now since Xmas but still go every week so it can't be bad :)

Yes i agree it depends on the leader. The WW leader i had was witty, but as mentioned i prefer the Sw diet.
