I'm not losing any weight!

First week on Slimming world (5 days in) and I have just weighed myself this morning. Having done many diets over the year: MFP, weight watchers, 5:2 I always lose between 3-5lbs in the first week (I have a lot to lose!) I weighed myself today and I've lost nothing. Not a pound! What am I doing wrong?

A few sample days:

Breakfast: weetabix with fruit and skimmed milk (use healthy A for that and cups of tea)
Lunch: cous cous, cooked chicken - wafer thin stuff, LOADS of veg.
Dinner: chilli (no beans and 5% fat lean beef mince) rice and veg

Snacks: fruit, freddo, hi fi bar (syns)

Breakfast: porridge and fruit
Lunch: jacket potato, salad, laughing cow extra light triangles (x2 - had less milk that day so used Healthy A)
Dinner: chicken with ginger rice

Syns: freddo, olive oil in salad dressing, coconut milk in dinner, teaspoon of choc Shot on my porridge (actually was nicer without but you live and learn!)

I have to confess one day I spent all my syns on chocolate (went out with dd to the cinema and had a crunchie as well as my daily freddoBlush) but usually I have a couple left each day!

I'm probably not drinking enough water so I will up that (anyone know why that should help?)

Your meal plans loook good so it's not that.

You might need 2 weeks to see it start to come off so keep going. Some people's bodies seem to take a little longer to adjust.

Don't weigh yourself at home. Leave to to class scales or once a week.

Your menu does look look fine. You may be surprised.

GoldenBlue · 02/05/2017 12:27

I agree you menu looks fine. As long as you healthy extras and Syns are measured then you should lose weight.

Did you weigh at home at a different time of day than your weigh in? The sw scales are calibrated so will. E more accurate and consistent than home scales.

Good luck x

Although potatoes, rice and pasta are unlimited, I personally can't lose if I have them at both lunch and dinner. It might be worth cutting out one of your carb portions. However, I agree with the others, wait and see what the official scales say and give it a couple of weeks before you panic!

Water helps by flushing everything through your system and also helps fill you up so you eat less!

Sw never worked for me due to the unlimited carbs.

ittooshallpass · 03/05/2017 06:26

SW just might not suit you. I am another one who can't eat carbs..I put weight ON with SW!

See how you get on for a couple of weeks and if no improvement switch to a different diet.

Nunyabusiness · 03/05/2017 18:43

I weighed myself yesterday morning after my first week and the scales said I'd lost 3lb. At class last night I'd lost 7lb.

Wait and see what your official weigh in says xx

Dont weigh at home! And dont weigh more than once a week. Stick to it.
