Can I do 6 days on plan 1 day blow out?
PlayOnWurtz · 23/04/2017 15:41
I'm really struggling with sw. I have been extremely good this week and averaged about 9 syns a day some more some less. But I don't think in an stick to this 7 days a week. I need to eat some fat! Just a piece of crackling with dinner or some chicken skin and some crisps and a cake and some ice cream...
Would it blow my week out the water by having a day off plan?
SleepFreeZone · 23/04/2017 15:47
I think a whole day off plan yes, a planned cheat meal - no.
ChessieFL · 23/04/2017 16:52
Sounds like you need to have your full 15 Syns every day so you don't feel deprived.
OwlinaTree · 23/04/2017 22:01
Well you could try it. It might work for you. See if you lose doing a cheat day.

I weight myself on a Monday first thing (doing it online) and then I am a not as strict for the rest of that day. I will still have slimming world friendly meals but will allow myself a bit cake or a lunch out etc without worrying too much about syns. This doesn't seem to affect my weight loss but I am a slow loser (1-2lbs per week.) My weight loss might speed up if I stuck to the plan 100%, 7 days a week. But I know this way I won't start to resent the diet and will stick with it.

There is having a day off plan, and then there is going on a binge. You want to binge and that's exactly the behaviour you need to try and change.
I feel your pain though, honestly I do. Maybe just one cheat meal? If you've averaged 9 syns a day for 7 days then you have 42 syns to play with already. Bet you could have something satisfying for that.

I have reached target and can maintain by doing 5 days on plan and 2 days off - but I can't lose by doing that. I managed to lose 1.5 stone by having a cheat meal and treats every week after weigh in
orenisthenewblack · 30/04/2017 15:41
I can't wait to get to target (3 stones to go). I am hoping then I can be on plan Monday - Friday, and then enjoy the weekend with takeaway, ,meals out with dessert etc. I'm praying that this will maintain my ideal weight because a lifetime of saying no to apple crumble, ice cream, pancakes and a few packets crisps is a lifetime of sorrow.

I've always (and I've been bloody dieting for years) had the time after weigh in off plan. And I'd lose. I think it's best not to be overly greedy though.
