Slimming World whilst pregnant

Good morning

Am posting for traffic here as I'm starting SW on Thursday and I'm 13w pregnant.

My reasons are twofold:

  1. I need to reduce my body fat as it's just never left since I had DD 14 months ago - it puts me into to overweight BMI zone (before I was pg) and I just don't look "right"
  1. I think I'm addicted to sugar and need help in trying to eat more healthily and beneficially for this pregnancy
  1. I really heaped on the weight last pg due to inactivity and shitloads of cake. I found it very hard to find things to wear for 6 months afterwards and it was just another thing to deal with on top of raging postnatal anxiety

Whilst I'm not daft and know I can't lose weight this pregnancy I'd like to avoid it piling on. Plus at some point in the next 18 months I'm aiming to lose 10kg and weigh in at 65kg before we go for baby #3.

Has anyone done SW whilst pg and what was your experience? And did it help you feel "better" postpartum?

I did it! Kept any weight gain off.

When I had him, I was lighter than I was when I fell pregnant.

Thank you for answering summer 😘

Do they give you son kind of meal plan? I know I've got my first sesh Thursday but so curious what to expect xx

I actually lost 9lbs in 3 months, the only reason it wasn't more was because I just couldn't stay away from chocolate & cakes!

I'm pretty certain if I had stuck to it religiously, id have lost at least 2st.

However, I was happy I just didn't gain anything, wasn't ever hungry either.

Then lost 1.5stone after he arrived.

They say to eat more than non pregnant women, however I found what I was consuming was more than enough, it was just nice knowing the extra food was there if I wanted/needed it.

Make sure you eat minimum of 3 meals a day.

DO NOT be disheartened if you either don't lose or put on. It's inevitable.

Admittedly I did get upset

I've basically got a total of 22lbs (10kg) to lose...have given myself to June '18 in which to do it.

SW seems to be v v v good for everyone I know and it's so helpful to have the perspective of someone that's done it whilst pg, thanks Summer

I joined here today and I also returned to SW 17 weeks pregnant with a gain of 1 stone. I am going to now follow SW to minimise weight gain with hopefully a few losses along the way.
