Online blood tests

I've been thinking about getting a. Looks test done privately, I'm trying to lose weight at the moment and I wanted to do a kind of general "well woman" blood test now and then when I have lost more weight to see if there are any improvements.

I'm also TTC and want to get one for my hormones too.

I don't want to bother my GP and when I looked into getting it done privately (which doesn't seem possible in my local area), there have been lots of websites pop up offering to send me a kit to do a blood prick test and send back to be analysed.

Has anyone done one of these online before? Are they safe and legit companies? The one in particular I was thinking of using was medi-labs.com but I am open to recommendations.

I'm not sure why this is in SW? Honestly, I wouldn't advise getting blood tests over the internet. Blood tests done by medics take about 5-10ml of blood and are done in the lab within a quick time frame. Then the doctor reads the results and advises you accordingly. The other tests I can think of that work from a pin prick and diabetes, babies heel prick test and own form of testing for haemoglobin.

What are you going to do with this information when you get it? Results without the normal ranges aren't that helpful or without the medical knowledge to advise what to do.

If you are TTC and have concerns, do go and see your GP (this is coming from someone who is a nurse and who had fertility problems).
