Any good recipes for salad dressings please?

Just a squeeze of lemon is quite nice and free.

(Id rather have a huge dollop of full fat mayo though)

Fat free fromage frais with a bit of wholegrain mustard and a bit of worcester sauce is quite nice with meat. Or a bit of chilli with prawns. Or just soy sauce.

But I miss mayo. Proper may. The very low fat is not worth having. And sesame oil I miss too.

Ugh! Tasty oily dressings are a no no

I tend to use my syns for dressings etc as I've tried to make free versions of marie rose sauce etc and they're just disgusting. So I usually do 2 tablespoons of light mayo, two tablespoons of ketchup and some lemon juice. That's about 4 syns and does me twice so 2 syns a portion but makes my prawn salad taste so much nicer.

But am I right in saying the fat free/very low fat shop bought dressings are free anyway?

ninenicknames · 30/03/2017 11:19

Yes they are free. But nothing beats a homemade dressing 👍🏼

I always used to make my own dressing, on SW though I have swapped the olive oil for shop bought free salad dressing (which I find pretty tasteless!) - mixed with balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper you don't even miss the olive oil imo Wink

I've found some vegan oil free recipes on Pinterest which are mostly all free if you switch some ingredients up and very tasty. I've made a red wine vinegar, rice wine vinegar, tomato paste, garlic, mustard powder and herb one for the week and watered down with water.
