Slimzone Asda

esmaesmomma · 27/02/2017 21:55

Just to let you ladies know Asda have their own range of frozen ready meals called slimzone. They are completely free to enjoy on the slimming world plan and are £2.50 a meal much cheaper then the £4 you pay from Iceland. Smile

Why have you posted this twice? Not working for Asda are you? Hmm

esmaesmomma · 27/02/2017 22:04

No lol I am sorry I didn't know how used the slimming world category was.

But no I'm not working for Asda just tying to help people out dieting can be expensive xx

I remember Haliborange Kills Otters (Google it) so yeah, viral marketeering on here is a bit risky. Glad to hear you're not working for Asda.

ScarlettO89 · 27/02/2017 22:12

They are not free on slimming world actually - slimming world have done a post on this

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 27/02/2017 22:21

Most are free on slimming world - if you do the calculations using the syn caluculator you can get their values
However as slimming world are not getting a licence fee or any profit from these sales they are scaremongering about hidden syns and advising that it's best to stick to their meals from Iceland Hmm

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 27/02/2017 22:22

I too do not work for or have any affiliation to Asda - I'm just a sw member who's not stupid enough to get sucked into the sw propoganda surrounding these meals

Groovee · 28/02/2017 08:19

They don't look very appetising. Some are quite high in syns, they aren't all free to enjoy!

storminabuttercup · 28/02/2017 09:36

Aren't the Iceland ones 3 pounds?

Groovee · 28/02/2017 10:49

They are storm but most have peppers in them and I still have no freezer!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 28/02/2017 10:54

I don't believe for one minute that Slimming World are bring honest here. They say they can't endorse them as they haven't seen the ingredients- erm, on the pack?

Slimming World are, understandably, looking after their own profits. I do get a bit baffled when I see people post on FB about SW looking out for the slimmers and protecting their weight losses -they're a multi million pound business not a benevolent aunties!

InfiniteSheldon · 01/03/2017 07:36

I think it's Iceland that are more annoyed than SW they have invested huge sums to guarantee production of SW meals. ASDA are jumping on the bandwagon and not even releasing the info to SW so they can check the new slimzone meals. SW HO are telling us to tell members to check them they aren't saying don't have them they are just saying no guarantees unlike the Iceland meals. I might try some as I'm not keen on many of the Iceland meals (except the Beef Crush that's amazing Smile and the meatballs I LOVE the meatballs). It's always good to have choice but ASDA have been a bit snidey here.

esmaesmomma · 01/03/2017 09:08

My friend had the cottage pie one from Iceland last night she got me to try it.. it was interesting it went into the bin lol

My dog loved that one Grin

InfiniteSheldon · 01/03/2017 09:32

I quite like the Iceland SW curries we had the Beef Channa sag, a chicken one and the sweet potato one with Ainsley Harriets lentil Dahl (free) plus home cooked rice, onion salad and cucumber raita on Friday and it was lovely much better than my local takeaway. Someone made free sweet potato and onion bhaji for a taster in group and I keep meaning to make them too.

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 02/03/2017 22:17

Sheldon
All nutritional information and ingredients is required by law to be on the packaging- it's all there
Not can you tell me how come with any other food product that's not on the sw app you can use this information in the sw calculator and get the syn value but because it's slim zone it apparent doesn't work

Can you see why I and others are cynical unfortunately as I've seen at my own group anything our consultant says is gospel to the vast majority and if she's been told it by head office well then it must be true

passmethewineplease · 02/03/2017 22:19

Waits for someone to mention Porky Lights

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 02/03/2017 22:36

I will take your porky lights and raise you mint fibre one

EnglishGirlApproximately · 02/03/2017 23:10

Oh god the porky lights drama! What's the mint fibre one issue? Don't buy them tbh they're tiny, I'd rather syn something decent.
turkey you're 100% right about slimzone- unless Asda are lying in their packaging then they have bigger issues than syn values

tabulahrasa · 02/03/2017 23:14

"Not can you tell me how come with any other food product that's not on the sw app you can use this information in the sw calculator and get the syn value but because it's slim zone it apparent doesn't work"

You can and it works fine, you get the syn values that slimming world put out in their statement...but the syn calculator comes out high on a lot of things, which is also what they said in their statement.

InfiniteSheldon · 03/03/2017 07:09

You can use the calculator and SW have said so about Slimzone, the problem is ASDA pretending it was producing the range in collaboration with SW, as for Porky Lights (which are clearly low syn by taste alone!) I am actually embarrassed by SW behaviour.

alibongo5 · 03/03/2017 08:47

I'm sure if the nutritional information was wrong on Porky Lights, they'd have far bigger things to worry about that how many syns their sausages are worth.

Like others, I'm a bit cynical about SW's motives in this. I'm desperately trying to keep my mouth shut on our group's FB page!

Rhiannon12 · 25/01/2020 19:37

Is the slimzone chilli con carne free
